  • Great for creative cocktails
Located in the heart of the South 1st district, Nomade is a Yucatecan kitchen celebrating fresh coastal seafood, artisanal spices from Merida, and wood-fired cooking. From the team behind Lucky Robot, Chef Jay and restaurateur Adam Weisberg share their experiences in the region and hope to transport you to the lush jungles of the Yucatán.

Heirloom masa, sustainably caught seafood, and artisanal spices are used to create traditional and contemporary Yucatecan dishes. Our bar features a collection of additive free agave spirits and a Latin inspired wine list. Additionally, we are a 100% gluten-free restaurant, seed oil free, and offer an extensive plant-based menu.

Love this place. Beautiful food, beautiful space, kind staff. It’s really the restaurant holy grail. It’s moderately priced, for a nice restaurant IMO, but the food that’s delivered is superb. Ryan was our server tonight. He remembered my name, and was attentive but not intrusive. My only comment is outside, they need to do something more for flu prevention. That drags the experience down a bit. Will return.

Everything we have tasted/tried has been amazing. The dishes are tasty, thoughtful and executed perfectly. The staff are knowledgeable and can handle food allergies flawlessly. Their weekday and happy hour specials are some of the best in town. We love Nómadé!

Great food and vibe, except for the couple next to us with their dog up on their seat, being hand fed at the table. Even barking at people when they walked by. We love dogs, even own one, but would never assume this is appropriate behavior at a nice restaurant. Nomade should have a no pet policy, or at the very least, ask that pets stay off the seats and table where other guests are trying to enjoy their meals.

Outing for husband and I while he was on business trip. Chose this place based on reviews for ambiance and flavor. It was very intimate. My husband and I were able to hold a conversation without having to yell at each other or just not engage in one because it’s to loud. Food was amazing. We ordered a few small plates as well as a main for each and a few drinks. Our waiter which I wish I remembered his name was very knowledgeable about drinks and food so he chose some of my dishes and surprised me with a drink of his choosing. Very well chosen. Overall it was a very nice time for husband and I. Thank you for a great night.

This place was a hidden gem that we walked into. It felt like we were transported to Tulum, in the middle of Austin! The chilaquiles and horchata were amazing! & to top it off, some of the best staff ever

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me? The last time I 'ate' here I swore I would never return but my wife is celiac and she urged me to give it another chance. I've eaten in a lot of Austin's best restaurants and Nomade is a train wreck on a whole other level. Music too loud for a party greater than two to have a conversation and next level crap service. The maitre'd asks what menus we'd like. The simple answer is the one that shows the food available tonight but for some reason that's too hard...I can't even go on about the daft maitre d.. I'll move on... The funny thing is that it's presented like the service matches the level of the food but arguably, the service obliterates any chance one will enjoy eating. 20 minute waits between 4-6 tablespoon plates is insulting. Once again, one member of the party ordered ala carte and the rest ordered the tasting menu. That means one person ends up sitting for 40 minutes watching the rest of the party eat because the waiter in his infinite wisdom has done zero math on the rate at which stuff comes out of the kitchen. When, by the time entrees do appear, we request the service be quickened. The result? Dessert is being served while we finish our entrees. Honestly, the food was totally irrelevant and in reality the same bavette could be found at 6-8 other restaurants on any night so whatever... Really it's being held hostage by obtuse service that ruins the experience. How many times can a table run out of water at an establishment of this caliber? How hard is it to simply provide all of the menus instead of the main one first, then asking to see the vegetarian menu, then finding out there's a tasting menu too? Again, 20 minutes between lilliputian plates? Not thinking about how to time service for both small plate and ala carte orders? Nomade isn't a restaurant. It's an instagram studio for Westlake divorcees to parade around in their Coachella costumes.
