About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Fancy
  • Great for creative cocktails
Nobu Atlanta is situated at Phipps Plaza in the affluent Buckhead neighborhood. With influence from Atlanta's lush canopy of trees and Japanese arts and crafts, the bar and lounge area features a white onyx bar volume that sits in front of a 12-foot-long river rock art installation while folded cast glass pendants cast a soft glow on the bar. The dining room takes you to traditional Japanese garden pavilions that were often used for ceremonies and rituals while overscale pendants made from shoji paper create the look of elongated, abstracted paper lanterns. Design language that is a continuation of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa's imaginative and innovative culinary offerings celebrates nature and is integrated through the use of different wood tones

Awesome experience. Food was fantastic and our waiter was on point. Great experience we already have told friends we are coming together. They also gave us a nice anniversary dessert.

This was the worst dining experience that my wife and I have had. We usually visit Umi, Chops, or Poor Calvin's for our special evenings out (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.). We decided to give Nobu a try for my wife's birthday. When we arrived, there was a scent of marijuana coming from the outside seating, we decided to dismiss it as our imagination. We were seated and ordered three appetizers - the roasted baby corn honey truffle, tempura broccoli, and the tempura avocado. The corn was very good, however the sauce with the tempura vegetables was very thin and lacking in flavor. We then ordered our main entree's. It took about 10 minutes, and the waitress informed us that they were out of the lobster that my wife had ordered. I asked for clarification and to speak to a manager and the waitress said " That will not go good for you" I have never gotten that response from a server, usually they are accommodating and helpful. At that point we should have paid the bill and left however I did not want to ruin my wife's birthday, and we chose to stay with the hopes that things would be better as the meal continued. Unfortunately, it got worse instead of better. My entree - the black cod was brought to the table by itself, then 10 minutes later the scallops and shrimp my wife ordered showed up, 5 minutes after that the roasted cauliflower was sent to the table and when we were almost finished with the entrees' they brought the rice for both of the entrees'. The food was luke warm and over cooked and served in a very poor manner. Then we ordered coffee and dessert. The coffee was cold, and the pistachio cake was the best thing we had all night. $280.00 for a poor dining experience, poor service and the manager did not even acknowledge our displeasure. We paid the bill and left a 15% tip. WILL NOT RETURN AND WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU CHOOSE ANOTHER PLACE TO DINE. UMI IS ABOUT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD AND THE EXPERIENCE AND FOOD THERE IS 100 TIMES BETTER THAN NOBU. DO NOT ATTEND

This is such a beautiful venue and the quality of food was on par and the service quite excellent. The main drawback was the DJ! The music was so loud as to almost be painful and negated any hope of having a normal conversation with your dinner companions without screaming.

We visited Nobu for their Easter Sunday brunch. While the quality of the food and drinks was, as always, excellent—and the service top-tier—I’m not sure the value matched the price this time around. I’ve been to Nobu for dinner and would give it five stars all around. It’s definitely worth it for the full dinner experience. But for brunch, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed considering the cost. Not that the food wasn’t good—it absolutely was—but it didn’t quite justify the price tag in my opinion. That said, the atmosphere during brunch was lovely. They had a live DJ playing a great variety of music that really fit the crowd. It wasn’t too loud, just added to the overall vibe in the best way. I’ll absolutely be back for dinner again, but I’m on the fence about returning for brunch.

Worst experience ever, completely incomparable to other Nobu locations. Atlanta Nobu was by far the most disappointing. I brought my girlfriend here to celebrate our anniversary, which I noted in the reservation, yet it was completely disregarded. There was no acknowledgment of our special occasion. The wait time was excessive, the customer service lacked attention, and although the manager was actively present on the floor, he never once came to our table, yet we noticed him interacting with others. To top it off, it took over 25 minutes just to receive our check. For a restaurant of Nobu’s reputation, this was an incredibly underwhelming and frustrating experience.

Service is Non-Existent We have been proponents of Nobu until now. The food remains stellar. The vibe is still fun. But easily, by far, the worst service we’ve had at a high-end restaurant in as long as we can remember. The staff was friendly enough, but so slow and so non-attentive. Order a cocktail. Get it 20 minutes later. Your server checks in like every 20 or so minutes. When you are ordering family style course by course, it is painfully slow. You run out of water. Beverage glasses are empty. And so on. When a dinner for 6 is over $1,000, expecting attentive service is not asking for too much. For references, we prefer “European” dining style of long dinners. We’ve had much more attentive service in Rome, Paris, etc. Won’t go back anytime soon.
