   Firstly when we entered no body was there to assist us, after someone came and asked for the name on the Booking and told us we should had to the first floor the first floor is a bar area is not a lounge area and is not suitable to dine in there because is away too cold there was no heating on one bar tender was nice serving the tables on the first floor as well as having to keep up serving the bar so is not his fault they don’t put enough staff in there. The meal was not too bad but when it comes to paying is away too easy for three people we paid almost £140 for a to course meal one bottle of water and one small glass of wine I have seen a lot better places and food else where I wouldn’t recommend to go there I would never return.

   Lovely atmosphere, really friendly welcome and impressive food. We had oysters and chicken wings to start, both excellent. We then both had half lobster as our mains, which we felt could have been bigger given the price but overall tasted amazing. Only marked the service down a bit as we had to wait to get someone's attention for napkins and extra cutlery but they were very friendly and clearly experienced. Enjoyed our visit, would highly recommend!

   Have visited lots of times and we always look forward to it. This time though there seemed to have been a change in staff and service was slow and not up to usual standard (they gave away our table booking whilst we were having a pre-dinner drink and then our order failed to make it's way to the kitchen meaning we had 1 hour + wait for food). Generally it's a great spot for a special night out, but I would expect better next time.

   Really excellent meal. Ribs were succulent and gin sour was lovely!

   Having the seen the great reviews for this place I decided to book the First Floor Cocktail Lounge for a relaxed anniversary dinner tapas style. However on the day before we were due to dine I got a call saying the menu had been "changed" ie the small plates were gone and replaced by basically three dishes, crab, lobster and a new offering, ribs. With hindsight I should have cancelled there and then. But I persevered and took my wife for the promised meal. First impessions were not good. Admittedly we were early at 6.45pm but the lounge was chilly, there were only two other diners and the chairs were bare wood. Not quite the glamour or comfort I was expecting. We discussed the reduced options with the waiter and my wife opted for lobster and I the ribs. Having last eaten lobster freshly caught in Greece it was probably an unfair comparison but the small specimen served to my wife would have probably been thrown back. Nonetheless she enjoyed what there was, the accompanying fries were good and the bread (optional extra) was freshly baked if modest in quantity. I had the ribs which were fine but on a par with a decent pub. I picked the South African blended red wine which was good. So the first course got an OK if not applause. Deserts though caught us out again. We were not aware that even that part of the offer had been minimised and while I seldom bother with desert my wife was looking forward to filling up with a pud. Nothing appealed to her from the meagre offerings so we paid up and left early. Not a disaster but not a great success either. Show less

   Went to Ship street first floor on a date and found both the service and food excellent! The decor is quite romatic and has a cosy/elegance to it. We would definitely return here again to try out the ground floor.

   Book for our anniversary. Both very pleased with the pleasant staff, candle lit room and food was delicious.

   Amazing time at No1 Ship Street - the oysters in particular were fresh and perfectly served, while the waiter made our time particularly enjoyable with just the right amount of attention and conversation. We will be back.

    The fish and chips were excellent and the mussels were some of the best I've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked, plump, tasty. Everything was delicious and we were given excellent service.
