   Service was great. What was disappointing was the selection of sake. The $35 nigori was the cheapest sake in the US, got it for $3.99 at Trader Joes. The best one on the menu was the basic sake at most places. Would be helpful to have more description of the rolls on the menu. Food was above average.

   the sushi was amazing, but after bringing us our first few dishes of sashimi, we had to wait over an hour for the remaining dishes while we watched tables around us get their food. This had never happened before, so hopefully only a one time occurrence.

   We've enjoyed NickSan in town, you simply can't find sushi with a Mexican fusion like this with all the wonderful flavors in California. If you have, let us know where!! We decided to try the one at Palmilla with some friends. It's about a 30m more drive from where we stay BUT so worth it!!! Everything takes a giant leap at NickSan Palmilla.... the ambiance, the service (Leo!!), the view, the entire vibe is so much more enhanced!!! The wines were excellent and complimented the food perfectly. We did Oma Kase (Chef's Choice) enjoyed 11 different dishes, it wasn't "dinner" it was a spectacular "experience"! This will always be the NikSan for us!

   On a busy Friday night, the staff and kitchen were clearly overwhelmed. We've come to Nick-San at least once a year for the past 10 years and this was simple a disappointing experience. Service was slow, slow, slow. We finally had to cancel our last order after waiting for 25 minutes with no checking from our wait staff and no explanation.

   We always love Nic Sans! The food is amazing and fresh! If you have not tried the Curricanes you are missing one of the best appetizers!

    Was incredible food. The service was great. We love sushi and was the best I have ever had. Sure it’s pricier than most but was a lovely experience.
