   Food is amazing! An absolute must try! Service was great and love all the music. We love Nara and so do the kids.

   My party was taken care of by Hannah. I was having a birthday dinner last Friday and she was nothing short of amazing! Phenomenal customer service and attention to timeliness! Will always look forward to coming to Nara over the other hibachi spots.

   Good was great - not too salty, which is sometimes a problem at Hibachi. Service was pretty slow - there were a bunch of folks working but we waited a long time for water refills, we were never asked if we wanted to order more cocktails, the steamed rice one of us ordered didn’t arrive until we were mostly done eating, and we had to ask for the dessert menu (those desserts also came out quite a bit after the two birthday desserts at our table). Because it’s so loud in NARA, it’s hard to have any conversations - and so the feeling of waiting for things is exacerbated. It’s a fun place to go and the food is good, but it’s very loud and service could be tightened up.

    On 3/29, management & some staff engaged in what I felt to be racial profiling, retaliation & discrimination against me. They displayed poor customer service & informed me that I couldn't dine at the hibachi grill as a party of 1, despite having a reservation. Before I requested to speak with a manager, a disgruntled female lead hostess argued with me about a policy that discriminates against solo diners, without offering any alternatives for over 8 minutes. This rude employee told me that I wouldn't be able to dine at Nara at all. When management intervened, he reiterated that there was a policy preventing solo diners from experiencing teppanyaki & stated that there was nothing they could do to accommodate me. The manager told me that had I called before my reservation, I would have been made aware of this policy. However, I had indeed called twice: once to push my reservation back from 8PM to 9PM & a 2nd time when the operator mistakenly scheduled my reservation for 8:30PM. I had traveled nearly 40 minutes & over 20 miles to enjoy a nice dinner. I was never informed of this policy until I arrived. Nowhere on OpenTable, Nara’s website, or by signage within the restaurant is this policy mentioned at the time of my reservation on March 29th. After expressing my frustrations to the manager, he offered to let me sit at the bar (bar was dimly lit, crowded, patrons smoking & a loud DJ) or at a booth. I was not interested in either option due to the amount of money I intended to spend on my meal, including hibachi entertainment. I was determined to sit at the grill. Thankfully, I met a wonderful group of women who intervened while I was being mistreated & invited me to join their party after 1 of their guests didn’t show. If you are a person of color, proceed with caution when dining here. They have a history of discriminating against women & men of color, particularly African-Americans. Just read through their reviews. I'd give more detail, but there's a word limit.
