   Best restaurant in Durham. Impeccable, creative, elegant food; attentive, knowledgeable service. The folks at Nanas want you to come in and stay awhile— they’re welcoming and make the experience memorable and special every time. The crown jewel of the Durham restaurant scene.    We had not been back to NaNa’s since they reopened after being flooded out of their site. But the ambiance was back with quiet elegance. The whole fish special was an innovative dish of NC black bass, sunchokes, and greens. It was well charred. The butterflied bass had some bones, certainly the fins, so was a challenge to eat, but the buttery taste was fantastic. Focaccia bread was a treat, but we could have enjoyed more than one piece. The ribeye was decadently delicious. Pommes purée was unbelievable. And the chocolate souffle was equally phenomenal. Overall an excellent meal. Still a legend and we will be back.

   Fabulous meal. The soft shell crab was outstanding. We also loved the warm dinner rolls. Chocolate soufflé was worth the 30 minute wait to prepare. Don’t miss it!

   Prices are unusually high. Ask for a quiet table. Be prepared to wait a long time for your food.

   Dessert was incredible.. food super tasty. Maybe a bigger portion would be better but overall really good .

   Ambience and dining area were pleasant, but the food was amazing and absolutely stole the s how. Perfectly cooked and everything had amazing flavor!
