   Spacious dining room although retaining the cosy atmosphere. Very good service.

   We went last night during a short trip to Bristol. I love the concept of hot stone cooking, which means that your steak is cooked exactly how you want. My husband and I shared an enormous Chateaubriand that came with a selection of flavoured butters and sauces, plus triple cooked chips and a rocket salad. Everything was included in the £70 price, which I think was excellent value. The steak was flavoursome and meltingly tender, and accompanied by a lovely bottle of Merlot. The staff and especially the owner-manager were really friendly and attentive. When he spotted that our stone had got a bit cool, he immediately swapped it for a fresh hot one. He was also really proud of the provenance of his food, and really supportive of local producers. We finished with local ice cream - the scoop of peanut butter and pretzel was outstanding! The place felt like it had been around forever, it had that ‘local institution’ vibe, so we were really surprised when he told us that they had only been open for eight months. This will be a place to visit again next time we come.

   Amazing food. Best steak I've ever had. Not sure I can go back to "standard" steak any more. I've been spoilt. Wasn't keen on the honey butter they recommended. Otherwise everything was great. Nice cocktails too.

   Amazing place, staff friendly and knowledgeable and the steaks are fantastic. Really clever idea of being able to cook them to your liking on the lava stone but the produce and pre-cooking in a water-bath makes the taste. Would really recommend to any meat lover.

   Outstanding service and unforgettable food. Can’t believe this is my first time here. I have already recommended to my friends and colleagues. Rightly number 1 on tripadvisor!

   My Girlfriend had been here for a birthday party the week before , I work overseas and when I got home she said we must go to mugshot. The steaks were beautiful lovely taste and everything from Chips / Salad / sauces / butters were fantastic. The staff were lovely and helped out when asked. I would definitely recommend and will go back for sure.

    We absolutely loved our first visit to Mugshot and will definitely be back. The food and service both fantastic and it’s a great dining experience.
