Welcome to Mr. Dooley's Boston Tavern You are "Dooley" invited in! Nestled in the heart of the financial district is a haven of straight talking, down to earth hospitality that is known to many as “Dooleys”. Mr Dooleys Boston Tavern opened it’s door in September 1991 and since then has become the place to meet for “A pint and a Chat” in downtown Boston. Throughout the explosion of “Irish Theme Bars” which have grown up in Boston Mr. Dooleys has held on to its tried and tested tradition of straight forward hospitality - As one bartender put it “ If ye want a theme park go to Disney, if ye want a pint come to Dooley’s !” But our relaxed attitude is not at the expense of quality. Indeed, Mr. Dooley’s has a full Lunch and dinner menu, which has been hailed by the media including winning “Boston’s Best Burgers” and Cheap Eats’ “Best of Boston” and Citywide acclaim for our authentic Irish Breakfast.

This restaurant/bar has Irish music. The meals are Irish and are tasty. Enjoyable experience.

Clam chowder was brilliant. Shepherds pie and fish and chips were ok, not brilliant though. Lovely waitress.

Went here on recommendation for a local. Besides some average food (club sandwhich), the beer selection is quite good. However the noise level is high and the staff was really rude.

No TVs, just Irish comfort food, drinks, and authentic Irish music at night. Burgers are great, and you can't beat the stew and shepherd's pie in the winter. Somehow the Guinness here tastes just a bit better than every where else.

My wife and I were there for a weekday lunch. Very few people were at the pub when we arrived at about 1:15 and we had a choice of several tables or booths. The service was very good and the food arrived promptly. We both selected items off their lunch daily specials list. The onion rings were excellent and our lunches were good, but not great. The pub is very old, a typical neighborhood place. Not a spot for a romantic dinner or special night out, but fine for lunch - anything cooked with Guinness can't be too bad!

We so enjoyed our visit to Mr. Dooley's. Didn't even mind that there was 50+ inches of snow on the ground once we had our warm filling meal at Mr. Dooley's. Have already recommended it to a number of friends. Loved the food - the Irish Sampler was incredible. Our server, Pamela, was great - we could have talked to her for hours just to hear the Irish in her voice. When we return to Boston we will definitely be making a return visit to Mr. Dooley's!!!

I liked the fact that no television was visible from our table. The food was decent, but unremarkable. The waitress was attentive but not pushy. The Manhattan I ordered was made correctly and the house chardonnay was decent. It was a nice place to chat after work. They were setting up live music just as we were leaving.
