Ishiyaki

A traditional way of cooking among fishermen on tsushima island. It began when a fisherman heated up a stone on the shoreline and broiled the seafood on it. Cooking on stone provides far-infrared radiation that cooks the meat juicy and soft. By absorbing any extra oil contained in the meat, food is cooked without any smoke allowing the freshness and sweetness of the dish to be maximized. After we read the write up in our local paper regarding the Ishiyaki we decided to take the 1 hour ride to your restaurant. Upon ordering, were told that we could not have this item because the stone which is used to cook upon would take too long to heat up. It would show respect to your customers to note that you need to place this type of order in advance on your website and menu. Why advertise offering an item when such specific requirements are needed? My Sangria Duck was dried out and the Thai Basil Chicken was weak on spice. The Prime Rib Chow Fun was very good and the Thai Mango Chicken was fair. Overall a disappointing evening out.

There has not been a time yet, and I've been to Mr. Chung's many times, that I've been even slightly disappointed. Mr. Chung's is consistently imaginative, and tasty, and it's a pleasure to dine there.

We LOVE Mr. Chung's! We tell everyone about it. Wonderful Gourmet Chinese food. Good prices. Went on New Years Eve. Perfect evening.

Excellent variety of Asian dishes. My wife had the duck and she thought it was very good. I had the special chicken and shrimp dish and it was excellent. Large portions and good quality make it a return in the future restaurant for us.

Delicious food and generous portions in a lovely atmosphere. Prices slightly higher than average Chinese food restaurants but Mr. Chung's is much above average. We will return.

I should be warned when we saw that the restaurant is empty on Saturday night. Everything we ordered: duck rolls, seafood ceviche for appetizers, prawns & duck for main dish- was bland with no taste at all and the duck was simply awful. After I complained about the duck to the waitress, it was taken off my bill, which was nice but if they are planing to stay in business, I would suggest to change the cook (hope the person that is cooking is not an owner). Some reviews mentioned the food is on the healthy side, but as far as I know only if you consider everything breaded and deep fried - healthy. On the other hand the host and the waitress were very attentive, no problems their. I live in the area & would never come back or recommend this place to my friends. Sometimes when the place is quiet it should be the reason. I chose this place based on positive reviews. I don't want to offend anybody but I suspect that some of the good reviews were solicited based on the experience we had their.

This is Chinese food at its very best. Light sauces, delectable tastes, lovely preparation, good, good tastes.... Exceptional choice, Mr. Chung's.
