   Overall, The Mountain House is a wonderful dining experience. We were seated in the Forest Room, and the view was absolutely mesmerizing, especially as the sun began to set. It added a magical touch to the evening. The food did not disappoint. We had the short rib and the chicken breast, and both were cooked to perfection, flavorful, tender, and beautifully presented. Parking can be a little tricky, but the staff were proactive and attentive. One of them reached out to help right away, which made the arrival smooth. Highly recommend this spot for a special night out, especially if you enjoy a cozy setting surrounded by nature.

   Pretty great experience last night. Good atmosphere great food. The only downside is basically the reservation is only inside since outdoor is too popular and requires 2 months booking in advance

   My experience at Mountain House was nothing short of immaculate. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed and respected—not just as a guest, but as a person of color. It’s refreshing to be in a space where inclusion isn’t just a buzzword, but a lived value. The atmosphere was serene, the staff attentive and kind, and the food—absolutely delicious.    I found the ambience and service to be stellar, but personally felt the food on the Winter 2025 menu lacked consistency.

   Absolutely wonderful. We came for the incredible redwood forest setting and were blown away by the food experience. Spectacular well balanced dishes and unassuming wine options with bold unique profiles. We did not try the cocktails but the cocktail menu was tempting. We may come back just for the mountain cabin cocktail bar but truly we’ll go back for the food.

   Mountain House is in a beautiful setting among the trees on Skyline Blvd. in Woodside. The fixed price menu has something for everyone. We had short ribs, chicken, and lamb rack. All entrees were beautifully presented and delicious as were the starters and desserts. Service was excellent. There is an extensive wine and drink list. If you haven’t tried Mountain House, you should. You won’t be disappointed.

   Mountain House met every high expectation, from the ambiance among the beautiful redwoods to every mouthwatering morsel of food! Service was friendly and attentive. Loved every minute!

    Celebrating two family birthdays last night was a perfect experience at The Mountain House. We walked into a glass enclosed room surrounded by the forest with the sun fading in the mountains. Appetizers ordered included fried quail, sushi, and little gem salad with thinly sliced apples, candied walnuts, pomegranate seeds, goat cheese and poppy seed dressing: easily the best salad I've ever had. The entrees were 20 oz rib eye with an incredible sauce and golden, crisp chucks of diced potatoes and roasted fresh asparagus. My Scottish salmon over tender artichokes was sublime, perfectly cooked. The dark chocolate flourless cake was outstanding and I cannot imagine choosing anything else next time although there were many tempting offerings. Last but not least, the service was everything one hopes for...attentive, warm, not rushed.
