   We loved the fabulous view from the dining room at Moraine Lake Lodge. Everything about the food was excellent, from the featured appetizer - salad with tuna, and both of our entrées, elk loin and crusted halibut, were so flavorful. We shared the featured dessert, an amazing cake. The service was extremely professional, and timing was perfect. It was an expensive meal, but well worth it. As in most restaurants, the wine was overpriced.

   Very good, prepared with local suppliers in season. Ambiance very nice, great view of mountains (when no smoke). Good selection of menu items. Daily specials are very tough to beat!

   Even though this is the only restaurant available to guests of Moraine Lake (without driving half an hour), the dining experience here matched the quality of the lodge. The views of the lake were outstanding, the service very attentive. For example, when they were out of the salad of the day, we expressed disappointment because we wanted the roasted peaches. Our server came back and said the chef had run out of the cheese on the salad, but if we wanted, he could prepare the salad with another cheese, and it was great! My trout was tender and juicy and my husband's seafood pasta dish was more than he could finish. They served regional wines as well. Finally, the ambiance of the beautiful room and small number of diners made it an intimate and special occasion.

   The food was excellent but I was surprised when they told us that the reds wines was kept at room temperature. For a place like this they need to have a cellar.

   Moraine Lake is an experience! If you are going to the Lake Louise area, visiting the lake, the lodge, and the restaurant are all well worth it. Much more special than Lake Louise. I'll focus on the restaurant for this review since it's for Open Table. It was a particularly pleasant surprise since most vacation lodges are more about their ambience, less about their food. Moraine Lake Lodge Dining Room was a delicious exception. The ambience was certainly present but not outdone by the fantastic dinner. My husband and I began by sharing a fresh, flavorful salad. He had a beautifully prepared and flavorful tenderloin. I had trout that was moist and perfectly cooked (not overdone as seems to be the norm at park lodges). Both entrees had excellent complementary veggies. We finished with an unusual apple tart that had a variety of fresh berries. In short, the food was fresh, creative, and well prepared. Since we're from Seattle, it's a long way to come for dinner. But we were talking about coming back because the place, including the restaurant, were so special. A note about breakfast at the restaurant the next morning. While competent and good, It wasn't nearly as interesting. Nor was the service as attentive. Still, well above the norm for a vacation lodge.

   The food is decent for the area, but overall less than great. They rely heavily on sauces to make the meat flavorful. The side items appear to be whatever happens to be in season rather than something that goes with the main item. Charcuterie board seems to be whatever they have in stock and many of the items don't pair well together. The ambiance is great with a view of the lake and a beautiful rustic feel. Not worth going to unless you're staying at the hotel and don't want to drive.

   We had the wonderful 10 peaks starter, delicious followed by an excellent stuffed chicken breast dish. This was the best meal during our 2 week holiday. Highly recommended.

   Great service. Food wasnt bad. Not worht staying at the lodge however. make a day trip out of it.

    Visited the restaurant while on tour based on recommendation. We were not disappointed. The meal was a delight as was the bonhomie and service provided by our server Nancy.
