   The food here is consistently good. It’s not a Michelin-star restaurant and doesn’t aim to be, but the Italian food we ate was above average. The waitress was personable and professional and she helpfully explained a couple of questions I had about the menu.

   Pinsas were excellent! Crust was soft and chewy. Toppings were great. Small wine list but good choices. Service was attentive. We’ve been going since they opened and it’s stayed consistently good.

   Everything went well until the end. The music suddenly got staticy and was very annoying. When we asked the server to please turn it off if it couldn’t be improved, she acted like it was normal

   Our first visit to Montesacro and it will not be the last. The menu and wine list are perfectly in sync. The service is fast, attentive and knowledgeable. The room is funky SF-style. We loved everything we ordered, all dishes were crafted beautifully, very fresh and vibrant flavors. The fennel pollen pannacotta was the perfect finish for our early Spring dining. Adoro la cucina romana!

   We had the best experience here. The pizzas were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked with amazing flavor—and the wine selection was incredible. What really made it special, though, was the top-notch service. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. The ambience was spot on for a relaxed day date—warm, inviting, and just the right vibe. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

   Best pizza that I’ve ever had bar none. I don’t remember the name of the pizza but some of the ingredients included: prosciutto, kalamatas, artichokes and hard boiled egg. The radicchio salad with pears was outstanding,as well. Yum!

   Do not choose the option to sit outside unless you are okay with being in an alley on 6th st. After we decided for the bar it hit almost 15 minutes and no one attended us or greeted us.

    We were going to see “Ain’t Too Proud - the story of The Temptations” around the corner at the Golden Gate Theatre. My nephew searched for best restaurants near Golden Gate Theatre and I saw that Montesacro SOMA was a 3 minute walk. We were so glad they were close since that was our main criteria for the choice! We had classic wood oven fired pizza with fresh buratta, brocollini and spicy sausage, kale and Brussels sprouts salad and a bottle of wine. All agreed that it was delicious and a great choice! Will definitely return!
