The food was okay. I expected the food to taste a lil better. It also would have been nice to have a waiter that could speak better English because it was difficult to understand what the waiter was saying. The waiter was not frequent and we practically had to yell in order to get his attention for service. I don't believe i will be returning.

I have always loved Indian Cuisine. This restaurant was far from disappointing. The service was attentive, and the food was very good, with large portions. My husband and I will definitely dine there again.

The best part of the meal was the service, Ms. Kanchan was our server. She was so polite and got us everything just like we ordered. The food was good have eaten better here in south jersey.

This was not my first visit to Monsoon. On this visit I was seated promptly and had a good waiter. The food is excellent and the menu is broad. Portions are large. My friends from India give it high marks, as do I. While the service on this visit was excellent, on previous visits it has been quite poor. I don't know if the change was because I was an OpenTable reservation (which the waiter asked about) or because they have some new staff. My overall rating of 3 stars reflects some of the previous poor service experience. They have outside seating but it wasn't open.

We have dined numerous times at Monsoon and felt this was the best Indian food in the Hampton Roads area until this last time. The lamb korma tasted as if they had taken previously cooked lamb and added to some quickly cooked korma sauce. The meat was chewy, tough and not up to their normal standards. The bharta (eggplant) was mostly tomatoes with very little eggplant and bland. We inquired as to whether the chef had changed but were told no. We are hoping this was just a one time glitch and hope next time will be better.

My husband and I frequent Monsoon whether it's for a date night or to fill our need of yummy/spicy food. Everytime we go we get the same exact items. Our app came within minutes however we had been at Monsoon for over an hour and our entrees still were not delivered. About 30-40 minutes after we arrived a neighboring table sat down, ordered and received both their appetizers and entrees. I HATE complaining, but at this point I thought our server may have forgotten to ring our entrees in. My husband checked and this is indeed what happened. Needless to say management was apologetic and comped our meals. We will certainly return since we also have received wonderful service. I think this time they may have been a little too busy.

Was in Hampton for a couple of nights and hit Monsoon the first night. Very good food, ample portions. My only comment is that my son and I we were repeatedly approached for water glass refills. The food was quite spicy, so having water at hand was welcome but we were approached for refills a half dozen or more times, when our glasses were still charged. It may sound nitpicky but it was excessive and distracting. We were there around 6:30 on a Friday evening and it was pretty quiet, so maybe the staff was bored. A minor complaint to be sure, as the restaurant was otherwise very comfortable. I would strongly recommend the restaurant and would return if I return to Hampton anytime soon.
