Four key pieces separate us from a traditional steakhouse.

1) We serve ranch specific Alberta Beef. We know our farmers and ranchers personally and respect the hard work they put into produce our beef. We like our beef to be, hormone & antibiotic free and pasture raised. Happy cattle make for better steaks.

2) We are one of just a handful of steakhouses in Canada that serves, Grass-fed, Grain-fed, Wet-aged, Dry-aged and Wagyu beef 365 days a year. Our beef is always fresh never frozen.

AND NOW THE ONLY LICENCED RESTAURANT TO SERVE AUTHENTIC KOBE BEEF

3) We use an 1800o Infrared Grill to cook your steaks. Our grill stays at very consistent high heat versus a traditional open flame grill. The high heat creates a flavourful crust on outside of the steak and leaves a juicy centre.

4) Our décor is warm and modern. The tradition has always been dark wood, leathers and a muted palate for a steakhouse. We broke the mold and decided to add hand selected music that reflects us!

The Cooking Process Covering the entire rib in coarse salt and herb rub, we then slow roasted in our special Rationale ovens to the perfect Medium Rare.

The steak was terrible (A5 Wagyu). I chalk it up to the kitchen, as the table service as excellent. Good restaurant overall (have been there before) but the steak was brutal, especially for the price ($$$).

The wagyu experience was fantastic at Modern steak Stephen ave. The baked Alaska was very tasty. Great experience with staff being very professional and friendly

First time to Modern Steak and definitely not the last. The service was outstanding and the food was scrumptious. Definately would recommend Modern Steak to any food lover.

Amazing food, exceptional service and even stayed open until 11:30pm when they closed at 10pm to accommodate us! Will 100% be going back

Modern steak happy hour is the best deal in the city. Half price wines >$100, the deadly tartare for a modest price and of course oysters. Best of all, it is quiet. Stop by, have champagne, enjoy yourself, speak to who you are with, smile smugly and be thankful they do this. Repeat.

Always a great spot for me to bring the whole family’s. Steak top notch and perfectly cooked. Great sides and mock tails. Service was perfect amount of attention and privacy. Was a great pre theatre spot !

Enjoyed the most amazing prime rib dinner for Modern Steak ‘s art of the prime rib pop-up. Enjoyed the French soup, bone in prime rib and pecan pie for dessert. Highly recommend!

Went on Wednesday for the date night special ($98 for 2 steaks and 2 sides and a bottle of wine) we both got the Alberta Striploin and shared the mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Overall fantastic value, the food was delicious and our server was kind, helpful, and attentive. Highly recommend

Beautiful spread of appetizers leading into Modern Benchmark showcase steak platter that comes from their own ranch and finished with the best baked Alaska I’ve ever had. Highly recommend going here
