The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the chicken katsu!

Went for Easter brunch and it was awesome. Great spread and excellent value given it was all you and eat and the quality of fish was still the same aged fish they serve at dinner. They also had favorites like Wagyu dumplings, crispy rice tuna, and a great selection of entrees to choose from too as part of the brunch.

Food was excellent: fresh, creative, flavorful. Service was VERY spotty. Seated with no menus. Manager eventually came over and offered us shishitos and edamame gratis, but the edamame never came. We did the tasting menu, but the first course was delivered without explanation so we didn’t know what we were eating. Then they brought another first course by accident between the second and third. Drinks meant for another table were brought to ours. A manager abruptly told us they were moving us to another table near the end of the meal, but they had mistaken us for another table. At this price point and with this menu, service needs to keep pace.

A bit hard to find. Drove around 2x and finally parked under garage. Once inside the place is really beautiful. Food was amazing. Very attentive staff. Maybe too attentive :) Will definitely go back and recommend

Loved our first visit to Modan! The food was delicious and the vibes were great. Our waiter, Parsa, was super friendly and knew exactly what to recommend—everything he suggested hit the spot. Such a good experience overall. We’ll definitely be back!

Very disappointing experience. The food was exceptionally mediocre ( surprisingly so at this price level), room was very loud, and even though they warn you dishes will come out tapas style from the kitchen, it’s odd to have entrees come out before appetizers when the menu is divided that way. A lot better Japanese options exist in the area.

Only rave reviews here. Modan serves the best and most creative sushi I have ever had. The restaurant itself is stunning, our waiter was knowledgeable and charming, and I can't wait to return. The restaurant is in the Heming apartment building, opposite Wegman's on 123 in McLean/Tyson's: a bit tricky to find. Call for directions and GO.

On my next visit I would choose to stick with nigiri and sashimi. The selection was excellent. Very fresh (uni was top notch). I found the “truffle” aioli and such overwhelming to the every item that had it. Sake selection was very nice and the knowledge of the woman who helped us was very much appreciated
