   First, let me start with, I never write reviews. I was planning on writing a review for Mission Ranch because of the quantity of wonderful experiences I've had here but when I read the review above I felt even more inclined. It's a shame that such a good restaurant has one star because someone doesn't understand polices. Sorry that you think your too special to have to follow the same rules as everyone else does. Mission Ranch is amazing. Their location is top notch, with beautiful views of the ocean. The menu and execution put them up against the best Carmel has to offer. Mission Ranch is one of my go to spots, even though its about a 15 minute drive across town. I literally have to drive through/past all the other restaurants in Carmel to get to Mission Ranch, so what does that say? Their staff is beyond friendly and it shows with their execution. It's impossible to find a restaurant with so many different reasons to go to in a single place. Sure, other restaurants in Carmel have the same offerings, but none at a single location. This is one of the very best in Carmel.

   Unbelievably INFLEXIBLE!! We arrived at 4:25 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon and asked to sit on the outdoor patio. We were sent in that direction by the hostess with the instructions that we could sit anywhere except for the tables that were set for dinner. All tables without napkins and silverware were taken. We asked a wait staff member if we could sit at one of the tables with napkins and silverware as we just wanted a glass of wine and would be leaving in 30 - 45 minutes. We were told this was not possible and we could sit at the bar (which did not have room for the four of us.) There were at least 15 tables open on the patio with another 15 or 20 unoccupied inside. Since we had guests from the East Coast with us and we had told them what a lovely view we would enjoy with our glass of wine, I persisted by asking for the Manager. We were told by the Manager that Clint does not allow anyone to sit at the tables that are set for dinner. I pointed out that people don't normally start eating dinner until at least 5 or 5:30 and that we would be gone by then. She said it didn't matter and that she needed to follow Clint's policies as he stopped by often. Unbelievable!
