Ming China Bistro is an oriental restaurant located in Seattle. The restaurant is owned and operated by a family that is dedicated to using traditional techniques and authentic oriental spices. Ming China Bistro sources its meat, vegetables and seafood locally and uses the freshest ingredients every day. The ambiance is ideal for a casual meal with family and friends. Ming China Bistro boasts two different food menus. The first is inspired by the local take on Chinese cuisine and serves dishes like spicy Kung Pao and General Tsao’s chicken. The other menu, inspired by the Szechuan cuisine of southwestern China, offers patrons an authentic insight into the oriental culinary world with dishes like green peppercorn fish fillet, cumin beef and pumpkin rice ball. Apart from these two menus, the restaurant also offers new dishes every week.

Food was good but not exceptional. Most of the menu had no descriptions for the food items. We were always waiting for our server, and our server decided we didn't need the extra vegetables we asked for. And they wouldn't honor my Entertainment book coupon-and were not at all apologetic about it.

We made a reservation and arrived a couple minutes early to find several groups waiting in the restaurant doorway to be seated. No service came to ask us about reservations or numbers for a table for about ~5-10 minutes. It was a surprise to them that we had a reservation and were asked to wait in the order that the groups had arrived. 25 minutes later we were seated (~45 minutes after our reservation). The food was good and service through the meal was ok but slow. I received an email 2-3 hours later saying that my reservation had been cancelled. To be very clear, the reservation had not been cancelled until hours AFTER the meal. I have no idea why this restaurant is on Open Table as they clearly do not want to use it, and don't honor the reservations made through it. That said, I would recommend eating there and arriving off peak hours as the restaurant emptied after the rush at 7:30pm. Just don't book through Open Table!

Some friends and I tried this restaurant with very little to go on--I've felt that it deserved a try since it opened in the East Green Lake area. Surrounded by a combination of coffee shops and bar-restaurants, this offers a different choice. It has a good range in the menu, though not all menu choices were available when we ordered. I would attribute that to the fact that the customer base is not yet strong enough to merit stocking a full kitchen. The choices we made ( two hotpots and the broccoli-beef) were all excellent, with exceedingly generous portions. The prices were also very reasonable. This is a Chinese restaurant that comes out on the modern side, and is well worth the try!

My boyfriend, his six-year old daughter and I went out to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, though it looked good from the websites I visited. I placed a reservation, although it didn't seem as though it was needed as it wasn't as busy as I had expected (especially on Valentine's Day). We were seated near the back, and the seating display was nice and neat. We were immediately offered water and tea. We ended up ordering three entrees to split between the three of us, and honestly they were all delicious. We had a man and a woman both coming over to check on us, which was nice that if we needed anything at all, we would have someone there to ask. When the check came, I expected the total to be higher, but it was not bad at all. I would definitely go back here again!
