Balkan dishes in the heart of-world famous for food-30th Avenue-Astoria, NYC.

For those who may not be familiar with the cuisine from this region of the world, Sarma is a stuffed cabbage dish, with ground beef, rice filling and traditional seasoning. Variations of this dish can be found in many countries such as Greece, Croatia, Albania, Montenegro , and more.

Other delicious menu items include Cevapi which is a traditional Balkan beef sausage that comes with bread made in-house and a cream cheese pepper dip.

Mimoza also caters to the late-night crowd specializing in Balkan music each Saturday from 8PM-2AM.

The restaurant/lounge was very nice including the small outside backyard area. There were 3 of us dining, two of us had the veal momoza and other guest had the grilled salmon. Food was delish. Dessert we had the crepes, tiramisu and strawberry ice cream. Cocktails were good as well. Server was very friendly sweet and accommodating, Definitely recommend.

Wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Specializing in Balkan food the staff is very helpful in explaining the dishes that were new to us. I had the slow roast lamb and my wife had the lamb chops. A dumpling appetizer was more that enough to split. Everything was excellent. Service was very attentive and welcoming and the ambiance was comfortable, as was the noise level. We will return.

The food was delicious, the owner was very friendly and made us feel welcome. I would recommend this restaurant and I will eat here again!

Fantastic experience at Mimoza lounge. Food was authentic Balkan and amazing. We had roasted peppers, Cevapi, Burek(cheese, meat, spinach), torator yogurt to dip everything. Yum! The burek was the highlight. Certainly tasted fresh. The style is a mix of traditional burek pie and spiral shaped pita. Wish we had room to try everything. Will definitely be back.
