Mimi’s Bakehouse is a second-generation family business established in Edinburgh in 2010, when Michelle Phillips sold her family home to open a bakery café in Leith. We have gone on to build a local success story brand that gives people a ‘hug when they walk in the door’ as the original café has since doubled in size and the business has gained five more shops, a successful website selling cakes online and a concession at Archerfield Walled Garden. We also opened an industrial bakery in March 2020, out of which most online trade is produced for fulfilment. Mimi’s Bakehouse has become one of Edinburgh’s best-loved bakeries and an award-winning brand which is a well-known “feel good” place to visit, while remaining small enough to go the extra mile and try new things.

    The ultimate treat! Afternoon Tea brings together the best of Mimi’s Bakehouse classics, from handmade scones with clotted cream and jam to fluffy cupcakes and nostalgic traybakes served alongside a curated list of tea from Edinburgh’s Eteaket Tea. Our award-winning Afternoon Tea experience is currently available at Mimi’s Bakehouse, Leith and Corstorphine seven days a week. Due to high levels of demand, booking is recommended. We require 48 hours for all bookings. Make it extra special with a glass of prosecco, a locally sourced gin and tonic or a speciality coffee from Edinburgh’s own Machina Coffee.

    Think Afternoon Tea but with a morning twist - the perfect weekend brunch treat. Award-winning cheese scones, irresistible mini breakfast rolls, a Biscoff pancake stack, we could go on! Perfectly paired with an Eteaket tea of your choice or Machina Americano. Available on Saturdays and Sundays between 9am and 12.00pm - now that's something worth getting out of bed for! We require 48 hours notice for all bookings.

    Thoroughly enjoyed our vegan afternoon tea. Food was lovely and great value. Service was really good, friendly staff.

    Food was really lovely, however the table wasn't clean. The chairs were also dirty, had marks and stains on them. Just didnt make me feel good sitting down. The menus were A4 paper and were dirty and crumpled. I had my 4 year old with me and had to ask for the kids menu as it wasn't given. As mentioned, the food was great though.

    Friendly staff,busy but service good.food hot and good but cupcake I had was a bit dry so maybe not v fresh ?

    This was my second time having the Before Noon Tea and the first time for my friends. Lovely food and great value

    I’m 11 years old and saved up my pocket money for Mother’s Day coffee and cake, which I was very excited about, but unfortunately it wasn’t the best experience. When I booked on the 2ND OF MARCH I had requested a booth but when we arrived, we were seated in some uncomfortable seats next to the kitchen. When I asked if we could possibly move to a booth, we were told they were for bigger bookings only. During our time, there was an empty booth near us the whole time. When we came to order the selection was really limited and mum couldn’t get the Jamie Dodger cake she was looking forward to. Overall it felt like we were really excluded from the atmosphere and were placed in the kitchen area because we didn’t have a big enough booking. It wasn’t the special Mother’s Day experience I wanted to give to my mum.

    Although the overall lunch was lovely, I was quite disappointed in the choice of cakes…. It’s been a few years since I was last at Mimis and I was really looking forward to choosing a cake 😂 it used to be a hard decision with so many to choose from. Today there was only a Victoria sponge, a couple of cupcakes and tray bakes. So although I had a lovely lunch, I was still a bit disappointed.

    We had a lovely afternoon tea and coffee and refills. But my companion was slightly surprised at being charged for a latte instead of an americano. But I guess it wasn’t on the list of options right enough…

    First time having the before noon tea. It was absolutely delicious and plentiful. Had to get a doggy bag. Will certainly recommend to others and will return. I was also presented with a complimentary cupcake which was a lovey touch. Again that came home with me! Great value for money
