   Booked a reservation hit email with confirmation number and all to call the day of and it said I didn’t have a reservation because the manager didn’t call to confirm it . That should be listed prior to booking or an email sent out after booking this is very inconvenient and unprofessional

   We will not be back, at least to the roof top. The Merten's Roof Top food options are limited, which we knew going in. That said, the restaurant was out of many things, including oysters and shrimp. The oysters I may understand, but shrimp is available everywhere in Michigan. The cut of steak for the Steak Frites was quite tough and had several pieces in the center that were extremely difficult to chew. It seemed like a hanger-style steak, which is something I would get at Brann's Steak House on special. The drinks (Martinis and a Spritzer) were not that good either. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the cheese plate, which we ordered with both kinds of cheeses. Essentially two pieces of brie came out, with one having some minute pieces of truffle in it. It was a plate of two white cheese hunks with white french bread on a white plate and a tiny sprig of dried-out rosemary. Seating arrangements are also very odd if you're trying to have something to eat on the rooftop. You either eat off of a tall, glass console-style table or could eat from a lounge chair/sofa with a coffee table. Poor execution all around. We were much happier going to San Chez afterwards, just down the street.

   Definitely would NOT recommend. We booked for a birthday and a few days before, the restaurant called to confirm our reservation, and say they’d prepare something special for us since it was a birthday. We got there and the whole place was in disarray. There was a total lack of communication around their covid policies, we repeatedly had to ask to get basic services, and our food came out cold. To put the cherry on top, when we at least asked about the “special something” for the birthday we were celebrating, we were told “oh sorry, we’re not doing that” even though they’d told us only a few days prior they would. Bottom line...mediocre service and good (but cold) food. Wouldn’t waste my time.

   Mertens rooftop was an outstanding experience! You cannot beat these views, best place in the city! The drinks are great and the pasta was unreal. Perfect place for a date night or meeting up with a group of friends. You need to go during the sunset on a warm summer night!

   View was amazing. Limited menu and limited bar due to COVID. Staff was very friendly. Their system was down so it was hectic on the servers but they did a great job.

    This was a very nice experience. We plan on returning again. There isn't much of a menu for appetizers but we had the smoked salmon and it was excellent.
