After a 10 year lapse, we returned and were delighted to see no significant change. The same tea cups, excellent menu at reasonable prices and the same decor with tablecloths. We plan on eating there much more often.

I took my mother and sister for Mother's Day this past Monday. Our reservation was at 12:30, which I imagine was the lunch rush. While our server was great (very personable), the actual service was very slow. It took a good 20 minutes to even get water! I love the 80s music that played in the background. The bread is AMAZING!!!! We could've filled up on just that. I had the jamabalya. Won't order it again. Not a fan of okra, which isn't even supposed to be in jambalaya. I think they confused jamabalya with gumbo. Anyway, I had a good enough experience to probably go back

Well the service wasn’t that great. My mom’s dinner was over cooked and our food came out luke warm.

Took a hour and a half to get food. Waiters didn’t know what was going on and didn’t explain food choices good enough so i was not happy with my food

Sorry; we have been to this restaurant several times over the years and this was not a satisfactory visit. Our server was very slow; while other servers were really hustling. We got our bread at the end of the meal, after we asked for it, and others who were there after us had theirs. Food was good, but very overpriced. My husbands piece of swordfish was very small, although flavorful. Sad to say, probably won’t return.

We were here on Mother's day, I know it was busy, but I figured a restaurant with a reputation and being around as long as they have, they would breeze through a day like this. We were seated pretty close to our reservation time which I was happy about, but after ordering, it took an hour for our food to arrive. My wife wanted asparagus so for a $1 upcharge she got two spears. It was kind of measly on the plate as the vegetable. My son ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder and requested to get it before the meal, the meal arrived but we had to remind the waiter that he wanted his soup. In a few minutes his soup did arrive (it was quite skimpy for a $7 bowl of soup, we showed the waiter and he brought a small cup of additional soup), buy it tasted bad, like it was from the bottom of a burnt pot. The waiter took it, brought a second bowl and it tasted bad too. They must've added too much liquid smoke to it, my son didn't care for it. Our waiter was nice enough to take the soups off the bill. My Prime Rib was very good.

The date that I was there was Mother's Day (which was a very busy day). We were greeted with complementary valet parking and the doors were opened for us both entering and exiting. We had reservations and were promptly seated and served in a timely method by the welcoming staff. The food was very good and the atmosphere was warm and pleasant. I will definitely return again in the future to enjoy the pleasantries of this restaurant. Thank you for Meriweather's of Southfield for making my Mother's Day pleasurable. Linda
