   I picked this restaurant by chance but pretty sure it will become a place i will go regularly. Great food and amazing service

   Great food but stroppy waiter who couldn't be bothered to do his job We went for Valentine as we was in the area but the waiter ruined the atmosphere after so many mistakes in the end me and my husband had to laugh good job the food was nice. I understand waiters do a hard job and I do give them credit but he was terrible and rude, the mangers excuse was he was tired , if it was my restaurant he would have got his p45 and sent packing . I will return as the food was good Hopefully he won't be rotated on 😃

   The food was good though the lamb was too dry. The danshak sauce was much spicier than in other places. Otherwise it was ok even if the dining room would deserve a little more decoration.

   We had dinner there after watching football at the Emirates. We started with some popadoms and chutneys - all very tasty and fresh. we then had chicken biryani and balti chicken dupiaza - both excellent and we could not eat anything else after this as it was very filling. On top of that the staff was super friendly, so it was a very pleasant dinner. It's a shame that we live in the South otherwise we'd be there way more often!

   We had a great evening at Memsaab, the food was very good, service fantastic, and the atmosphere was a nice change from the normal curry house environment. Memsaab is housed in an old Barnsbury pub, so there is plenty of space, tall ceilings and a very pleasant atmosphere without it being ott or a bit too glam. Much better quality, value and vibe than anything we have tried on upper street.

   Really great find for us. The food was delicious and Hussain, our waiter, was very attentive and helpful in his recommendations and the timing of the food. My daughter is a vegetarian and found lots of choices. Will definitely come back.

   It's difficult to find an Indian that doesn't just think it can fob British people off with a spicy tomato sauce and call it a tikka masala. Memsaab is a great find. The food here is excellent - even down to the chutneys for popadoms. Have since ordered takeaway from here, and am confident that I will stick with them as our Indian restaurant in Islington. Definitely eat here. It isn't as cheap as other Indian restaurants, but you do get what you pay for.

    This is a superb little find, a short walk away from the busy (and rather variable) Upper Street strip. Set in a mostly residential Barnsbury area, the restaurant decor is classy and the service is top notch - as a good fine dining establishment rather than your local curry house. My dishes were tasty, plentiful and good value with some nice little touches and attention to detail. I took advantage of an early week special menu which made it even better value. I'm surprised this gem isn't more popular; I'm a fan and I will be back.
