   I have eaten at Melina's for dinner a number of times and brought other friends there for dinner too. I thought the food and the service/servers made it one of the the best places in the DMV and the best restaurant close to Bethesda One night when there were 5 of us, we kept on trying just about everything on the menu and dish after dish were winners. Today I took a friend out for her birthday expecting it to be great. The waitress was very good, suggesting two wines that we each enjoyed a glass of. We ordered the spinach salad with chicken, pickled onions and feta and it was delicious. The thigh meat chicken came on skewers just like the chicken dish they have on the dinner menu. If you like your chicken moist, using thigh meat makes a huge difference and they use a fantastic marinade because there is a special taste that makes it moist and delicious. Would love to know what is in the marinade. I hope they NEVER stop putting that on their menu. The 2nd dish was the fried potatoes with tzatzitki sauce. The potatoes were not freshly cooked, not even warmish - just hard and stale tasting. Our reservation was at 1 and I suspect that if we had come earlier the food would have been fresher. Seemed like it was left over from the cooking during the lunchtime rush. We left most of it. So that was a big disappointment. Also, no bread was offered or suggested which was surprising.

   Awesome as usual. Had the special of lamb Chops which were delicious.

   I travel miles out of my way on business trips just to eat at Melina! (Who am I kidding, I create business trips to have dinners here)

   Good restaurant. Service was slower than usual, maybe understaffed last night. Our waitress was very nice, but we had to flag her several times as she was walking by. I don’t think it was her fault at all, but frustrating when you are going to a nice restaurant.
