   Good food and service. Hopefully, when you re-open the menu will still be as good as it has been in the past and the "trendy" stuff will not overtake the good food we have enjoyed for years.

   Made a reservation for 7:30 on a Saturday night. Never been so we wanted to cover ourselves. Arrival- turns out reservation wasn't necessary. Service was spot on, Mai Tais and Savignon were perfect accompany to our delishous food. A bit pricey for drinks, a shared appetizer, 2 salads, and 2 entrees. Tab with tip at the end was $250!

   Amazing! We went for our anniversary and they treated us like royalty. Food was out of this world especially the beet salad. And service was even better. Our waitress had the bartender make me a special drink and they were out of the wine we wanted so she got them to give us a better bottle for same price!

   The food was tasty with a mix of comfort type food with creative twists. The flavoring was superb in all of our dishes. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful in explaining the dishes and their ingredients. The lamb dropped off the bone in the lamb shank. I had the crispy noodles which was the perfect combo of flavor, and texture. Crispiness on the outside and soft, warm noodles underneath with strongly flavored chorizo and garlic aioli.

   I thought it was overpriced for what we got. My husband ordered a drink and was charged DOUBLE what he has paid in many other resteraunts.

   As usual, the quality of the food and drink at Maxwells is outstanding. Unfortunately, the service continues to degrade. Minimal dining room staffing means that we were left waiting to order our entrées. When food arrived, one entrée was incorrect. Requests to refill water went unfulfilled. This restaurant used to be one of my favorites, and I'm chagrined by its decline.

   Four of us dined here last night. The carpaccio appetizer, oysters, and prune appetizers were absolutely excellent. My mother's chicken marsala and husband's cod special - again, excellent. My daughter enjoyed her short rib ravioli. I ordered the lobster gnocchi in cognac cream sauce. The lobster was incredibly fishy. Disgusting!! I couldn't eat it. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly, and her attentiveness was wonderful. However, the wait between appetizers and entrees was excessive: more than 30 minutes. Given the prices, and the ease of getting terrific lobster in greater Boston, no thanks. Never returning.
