   I went here Sunday 4/20 with family and it was a TERRIFIC EXPERIENCE!!! I have been going to match box for years and was excited to take my family to experience what I thought would be a great time. The atmosphere was like a club or lounge and the music was TOO LOUD! It was so loud the server couldn't take order correctly and keep messing it up to the point he was getting frustrated and begin to throw away food. I was very appalled when I witness him do that. He constantly messed up the order and one member in my party never received his food at all! We had to beg for silverware and due to an apparent language barrier with one servers she got trusted and just left. When we brought this to the attention of management he took off only a small percentage of the bill after we literally waited over ten minutes to talk to him! So after settling the bill 2 days later I discovered that the server had given himself an extra $25 tip! In my book that's stealing when I called the manager Tyshawn I believe he was very nonchalant about it. This leads me to believe it's happened before. Needless to say Matchbox will never receive my business again

   We had a really good experience. Jefferson was the only server on the upper level. He attended to our needs the best be could, considering he had to go up and down the stairs to get things during that time. It made NO SENSE that he was the only server up there, and there was a table of people who complained about him to the manager. I really feel like the manager should have had his back, since he is the one who allowed the server to be alone. It was just too much for one person to be in that section serving so many people. The food was very good and mostly hot when we received it. The music is TOO LOUD.

   First - The service was fantastic- everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. They treated my requests (leave this out, cook this way, etc) like they were brilliant ideas that they should have thought of first. The food - we ordered the biscuits (so good!), the roasted salmon, and the Cajun chicken pasta, with side salads. There was nothing left on our plates when we were finished. The portions were substantial, and if we didn’t have plans afterwards, I would have probably taken half of mine home (and still been stuffed). Even the salads were fantastic. The only thing that wasn’t 100% was the music level. It was REALLY loud. *Almost* uncomfortably so, but I’m getting older (50s) and I recognize that my tolerance for loud music isn’t what it was in my 20s. But we did have a challenging time talking. I’ve been to Matchbox several times, and this isn’t a persistent issue, but it is something they need to be aware of. Would we come back? Absolutely. And I hope we get the same servers. Well done, Matchbox!

   I would like to start by saying go for the brunch!!!! It was such a great time. The General Manager Tracy was very accommodating, interactive and ensured we were ok the entire time. Our waiter was kind and attentive. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was cute. Will definitely return! 100/10!!!!!!

   Tiffany was our server and was absolutely amazing. Shamik the manager was also attentive and friendly. The DJ was point. We will be back!

   Matchbox Capitol Hill’s unlimited brunch is an absolute must-try! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a lively yet relaxed vibe that made it perfect for a weekend gathering. They even had a DJ! The highlight, of course, was the food. The unlimited brunch menu offers a fantastic selection of plates, allowing you to sample a variety of flavors without feeling rushed. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. The cinnamon rolls were delightfully gooey, the shrimp and grits creamy and delectable, and the mini burgers were a standout—juicy and packed with flavor. Pairing it all with bottomless mimosas or a Bloody Mary made for a perfect brunch experience. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring our glasses were never empty and food arrived promptly. For the price, the value is unbeatable. Whether you’re catching up with cousins, celebrating a special occasion, or just indulging in a fantastic meal, Matchbox’s unlimited brunch is well worth it. Highly recommend!

   The brunch experience was terrible. Unlimited mimosas and martinis but due to bad service only received two drinks. Unlimited food items off the brunch menu that took an hour to come out and it was cold and either overcooked or overcooked. Will never do brunch there again. Almost every table asked for the manager.

   They need to get more staff for the brunch rush because they are working the mess out the staff and the wait for drinks and food is a little longer than should be.

    We arrived and were greeted by the host, who took our drink order and offered shareable starters. After about 15–20 minutes, I had to flag down our server to place our food order. Our food arrived quickly, but I still hadn’t received my drink. After another few minutes, I was able to flag down the server again and was informed that they were out of lavender. The manager comped my drink. We were never given the opportunity to order more from the bottomless brunch menu. After sitting for another 20–30 minutes just to get the bill, I believe this was the first weekend for bottomless brunch at this location. The experience we were expecting
