   We thought the food was fantastic. The hot plate your food is served on really helps the food. Stay warm and delicious. The only setback is the price.

   Mastro’s Ocean club newport was nice but unfortunately it’s not a 5 star restaurant after dining in many fine restaurants in orange county..It lacks customer service of a 5 star restaurant and the brunch provided ( not exciting). was never mentioned during reservation other than their regular menu…we were looking forward to have a sit down lunch with their regular menu options

   We were sorely disappointed as this was not an upscale experience at all. The food was not worth $150 per adult for brunch. Way overpriced to a fault. The waitress was very nice and accommodating and of course the view invaluable.

   The buffet was very expensive. $150. The coffee and beverages were great. The prawns were tough. Every single item on the hot breakfast food buffet was COLD. We ordered food from the kitchen. Eggs Benedict were cold and truly unimpressive. The presentation was terrible. We could barely see the ham and the crab was so salty, it was in-edible. The Belgian waffle was soggy, cold and very disappointing. The very best thing were the chocolate covered strawberries. They were gorgeous and delicious! The servers at the table and every station were cordial, friendly and very accommodating. Truly delightful. We love Mastros and have always had delicious food. It’s honestly one of our favorite restaurants. The brunch was overpriced and the food was substandard at best. We will never have brunch at Mastros ever again!
