   We were the only diners at 930pm on a Monday night. So not much of an lively atmosphere which we were hoping for. But the service was excellent and the waiter was very friendly.

   We had an excellent meal over a 2 hour period. We were not rushed and the courses came out in a timely fashion allowing us to enjoy the experience. Food was excellent and the presentation of the dishes beside was excellent. Highly recommend it.

   Disappointment. Felt like a restaurant on its way out. New Manager, new waitstaff, out of three primary entrees. We were the only table, you would expect the service to be stellar. Food mediocre. Was excited to try Mason. Would NOT recommend.

   A promising place, not yet ready for prime time. With prices in the same league as Gibson's or Les Nomades, the bar is high. First the good news: the filet mignon was perfectly prepared, exactly as ordered, and delicious. The bad: it was served luke warm on a cold plate - not even hot enough to melt the butter on top of the steak. The only really hot food was the two forgotten side dishes, which were served mid-meal, and were hot only because they were cooked after they were discovered missing when the main courses arrived. When they finally arrived, we realized we hadn't missed much; the spinach was swimming in cheese, and the "scallopini potatoes" were just thick fried potato chips. The crab cake was ok, nothing special. Service was well-intentioned and friendly, but inept. On the plus side, they have an outstanding wine list, with many excellent wines by the glass. A very comfortable, dark dining room, with pleasant recorded music played a bit too loud and hyperactive air conditioning. Overall, a lot of potential. I'll give it a few months to get organized and try again.

   Had a great experience at Mason. The Som, Andrew Spence, was fantastic and showed us a great time. The wait staff was great and the food was delicious. Best oysters in town (and there are a lot of places with good oysters in Chicago), beef Wellington was cooked perfectly and the wine selection was great. The pictures online dont do this place justice (looked stuffy online), complete opposite in person. Chill vibe and great ambiance. Will definitely be returning!

    Food was very good, but VERY pricey. The chef threw in a lovely appetizer which took away the pain, but still. Lovely ambiance, but on a cold evening in Chicago... empty which was a bit eerie, but not strange.

    Had a wonderful experience at Mason! Food and staff exceptional. Especially enjoyed the sommelier Andrew! His knowledge and personality were fantastic. Can’t wait to get back soon
