   Mark and his team always deliver fabulous dishes and he continues to presents his client's favourites which is always cheering after a long drive. Great wine list, considerate service in a quirky setting. Should most definitely be on the Lake District culinary bolthole map!

   Mark and his team never fail to disappoint. Considerate service in a beautiful setting and a quirky environment. Always worth the journey to this culinary bolthole!

   Exquisite food, delightfully presented, in miniscule quantities, at rather astronomical prices. The restaurant is a delightful venue; the brasserie less so. More vegetarian options would be welcome.

   Unfortunately we had booked for a midweek lunch but the hotel had stopped providing lunches but neglected to inform us Staff were friendly and helpful

   We had a very delicious meal from the Choice menu. Each course was beautifully presented and the service was excellent.

   The dining experience was lovely ,the front of house waiter was very informative of what was eating a little rushed as he was the only one on duty ,but couldn’t fault him or the food at all .

   Excellent food. No doubt about the skill of the chef. Odd place. Caught in a time warp. Background music Vera Lynn. It fits with the image projected by the hotel. Only one other couple at lunch time which is often the case in the Lake District. Good position overlooking Haweswater. Very expensive food and added service charge was a bit much given it had to be served and there was only us for most of the time.

   Called in for lunch after a previous visit in June . We booked online for lunch at 12.30. On entering the hotel we found nobody at Reception. We then went into the bar area and again nobody about . However there was a bell for attention which we pressed . Waited about 10 minutes in a very cold room , no fires lit . Eventually a young lady appeared apologising saying she was very busy front of house and answering phone calls . We ordered two sandwiches and two portions of chips with 1/2 lager and coke . On our previous visit the sandwiches were perfect fresh hand cut bread and plenty of filling . Plus hand it chips . This time very poor sandwiches and fries ! Hardly any chicken in mine . During our lunch a couple of people came in and complained about the cold ! Still no fires lit . Appears to have gone down . A shame for such a beautiful hotel and location .

    We have been to the Haweswater Hotel for many years and the food has always been fantastic and now with the tasting menu change we thought we would experience this for our anniversary and it did not disappoint! It was fantastic, the portions were perfect and the mixture of flavours was outstanding! The only wish was to bring back the packed lunch option as there are no shops around and when you go for a walk directly from hotel it is quite handy.
