Not impressed with the fact that they won't substitute a vegetable side for a pasta side, without charging $3. Tacky. Doesn't serve customers dietary needs.

This is the fourth or fifth time we have dinned at Mario's restaurant. Every time we visit the Matthews area we make a point of having dinner there. Staff are always friendly and accommodating . The food is excellent. It's is always served hot and fresh. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal.

After reading the reviews I was looking forward to eating here. Unfortunately the best thing we had was the dessert. We both ordered a salad and my mom's had large chunks of the core of the lettuce. I ordered veal marsala which was dry and salty. I ordered baked ziti for my mom and she got ziti with meat sauce. I sent it back and it came back with mozzarella melted on the top. She never got the baked ziti with ricotta. It wasn't that busy at the time so very disappointed in the food and won't go back.

Marios/John's Place is always good. Especially enjoy the tomato sauce used on veal. In its new location it has been a do-to place for us.

We were six in our party. Each guest had a different entree and all meals were outstanding. Full of flavor but not over seasoned. This is a family owned restaurant who give each customer personal attention to their needs. Very family friendly. I will recommend to friends and we would go back.
