The restaurant was not really crowded and brunch is self serve. Plates were not cleared in a timely fashion. Beverages were not replenished (the bartender started to bring coffee and water!). Most proteins were overcooked, and so were rather dry. Vegetables were almost raw. I hope that The Priory will make improvements!

the food was good and uninspired. The service was not existent. The waiter had to be tracked done. He never approached the table. For the price the food was very ordinary . I will actually encourage my friends to avoid it. One of the worst meals I have had in PGH.I felt it was a waste of money

We had dinner in the bar on Friday night. Not at all crowded. Quiet place to talk. Excellent Salmon and mushroom manicotti mains. Friendly and informative service. It's an extraordinary house beautifully restored.

Wonderful Elegant Brunch - we were surprised that the price was lowered for "Restaurant Week" in Pittsburgh, the food/value would have made us happy at their regular price. Omelet station / carving station and lobby tables full of standard brunch pastries, nice lox with mini bagels, but the star of the show were the lamb chops - perfectly cooked rare and delicious. They hooked up a player piano unit to the grand piano in the lobby, it was perfect background music. They encouraged us to wander the hotel after brunch to see the renovations in the chapel, the billiards room, etc - everything has been beautifully done. Did not see the rooms but would suggest this place to future out-of-town guests. Will be back for Sunday Brunch soon!

Great menu for restaurant week. Very busy and service a bit slow. We will try it again.

My boyfriend and I went to dinner at Manisons on Fifth during Pittsburgh's Summer Restaurant Week. I was excited to try this place because I used to live a few blocks away and I have driven by it at least 100 times. It looks GORGEOUS from the street. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our experience. We were off to a good start when we were greeted by the valet right out front and seated at a table for two in one of the rooms off the lobby right next to the bar. However, things quickly went downhill. Our server was nice, but not very knowledgeable about the menus (or the B&B in general). He filled our water glasses once in the beginning and then disappeared for long periods of time. When he finally came back and my boyfriend said we needed water, he gestured towards a large glass drink dispenser sitting on the bar behind us that appeared to have fruit and liquid in it, but we were never told that it was water or that we should help ourselves to refills. Our first 2 courses were fine. For entrees I ordered the crab cakes and my boyfriend ordered the lamb. My crab cakes were good, but the potatoes that came with them were uncooked. Some of my boyfriend's lamb was okay while other pieces were rubbery and not edible. Granted we were getting Restaurant Week rates, but still. My boyfriend became upset and told the server when he finally came over to check on us. The server just stared at us and without so much as a word walked away. He didn't offer to return my potatoes or my boyfriend's lamb to the kitchen or anything. A little later, a manager came over and apologized. She said that everyone was new. She offered to comp my boyfriend a drink. By that point he was so upset he just wanted to leave. She then came back and said "the meal would be on them." When we got the bill, they had removed my boyfriend's meal, but not mine or my wine. Beautiful mansion, but poor service and okay food. We will not be returning and would not recommend.

The service is very slow. We orderred three course meal and each one takes more than half hour to wait. We did not get enough attention through the dinner and they need more server at the site.

Dining at the mansions on 5th is enchanting. I love sitting in the library dining room imagining what it would have been like to live in this mansion back in the day. The food selection for restaurant week was very tasteful I enjoyed every bite. Mansions on 5th will always be my first choice when selecting restaurants for restaurant week in Pittsburgh.
