The Mandarin Palace is situated on the Gants Hill roundabout, easily accessible by Gants Hill London Underground Station or by car on the A12. As you enter the restaurant it is quickly apparent where our name comes from; palace like decor, traditional ornaments, paintings and Chinese lanterns combine to create a friendly and authentic oriental atmosphere. You will find our staff traditionally dressed and very welcoming. The service is efficient and friendly and we are delighted to help with any questions, advice or special requests that you may have whether it’s your first experience with genuine Peking, Cantonese or Szechuan cuisine or not. We offer customers an extensive choice of menus – our cuisine is genuinely Peking, Cantonese or Szechuan, with many dishes on offer including a wide range of vegetarian dishes, dim sum and seafood specialties. We find that Chinese food in England tends to be a compromised mix of styles that becomes somewhat watered down and disappointing.

    Friendly staff, good food, not too noisy. 2 people and a half - dinner - around £40

    Smallest portion of BBQ for £12 that I have ever seen. Portions generally small. Sad.

    Enjoyed the dim Sum, the rest of my meal was tasty also. Portions were decent sized, had enough left for lunch the next day

    We had a family celebration of a birthday at the Mandarin. Staff very friendly and the restaurant was beautifully laid out. The food was good and we had plenty of it. We did not feel rushed. Overall a very enjoyable evening was had by all and we will certainly go again. This was our first visit. They were even kind enough to come after us because one of us had left our purse behind. The proprietors made us feel really welcomed.

    Only local restaurant that does good dim sum in the area. A regular of ours - good to meet with friends. Food overall very good

    Third time I have been to Mandarin Palace, this is the first time however in the afternoon. The food was great, there's a good choice. Service could have been a little more faster and more attentive, but I think that was just due to the staff our table got, I could see good service being received by other customers. It was very busy for Sunday afternoon, which is a good sign that they are a strong business. Overall it was good, not amazing as I had hoped, but good.
