   The choice on the menu was a bit small but the food was delicious and well presented the staff were very friendly and helpful would highly recommend it can't wait to go back

   We had Sunday dinner here, arrived for 12.30 which was before most other diners and meant we had a good choice of table. Food was well cooked, tasted nice. White linen table cloth and napkins on our table, white linen napkins, no cloths on all the other tables. We were in the conservatory which was nice and there was an adjacent dining room. Service ok.

   From the moment we walked in and were greeted by the lovely receptionist the staff and host couldn't do more to make us feel comfortable. I wasn't expecting this as trying to find the hotel in the dark was a nightmare but was explained to us a they had had a problem with the outside lights at the entrance. The lights in the car park paths were not much better. Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable about the food and humorous, she made us feel very comfortable. The conservatory was a little noisy and the sound wasn't absorbed by soft furnishings, it was a litle uncomfortable at times. The food was excellent and although someone might exclaim at 'only' eight chips, they were excellent and more than adequate accompanying a wonderful steak. The vegitarian risotto was tasty and large. The Sweets were very good and worth leaving space for Overall an excellent place for a significant meal.

   I had a starter chicken live patie with this there was very little no bread or toast then for main I have beef steak this came with one tomato and 8 chips that was all very poor

   Lunch service was slow. Priority was being given to afternoon tea service. Table was near stereo which was too loud. Food quality good for price.

   I booked a table in the restaurant for my mother-in-law's birthday. We had Sunday lunch on the set menu and the food was very tasty and good portions. The restaurant is very light and airy with good views over the gardens and the hills beyond. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and very kindly arranged for my mother's dessert to come with a birthday candle in it which she was very pleased about. We had a good experience and a very enjoyable meal and we would definitely go again.

    We ate at Makeney Hall Hotel as we were staying there. The restaurant was really nice (conservatory style looking over gardens), staff were good and food was lovely. Definately pleased we ate there and would recommend.
