   This was my first visit to Luminosa. I live in North Asheville, and we are always on the lookout for great downtown spots to enjoy — both for ourselves and to bring out-of-town guests to. After hearing wonderful things from local friends, we were excited to finally try it. While the evening started off well — our waiter was kind and attentive, and the service overall was quite good — there were a few things that unfortunately left us feeling disappointed. We were seated right by the front entrance, which was less comfortable than we had hoped for, especially given the atmosphere Luminosa seems to cultivate. And although the evening felt warm and inviting at first, we were surprised toward the end when the maitre d’ approached our table. Though he was polite, the request for us to leave because they needed the table felt unnecessarily rushed and a bit condescending. We had already paid our bill and were simply finishing up conversation, not lingering excessively. Having grown up in New York City and having experienced many of the world’s most esteemed restaurants, I can say that it’s incredibly rare — and, honestly, disappointing — to be asked to vacate a table in that way. A more gracious, considerate approach would have left a very different impression, especially for local clientele who are eager to support businesses downtown. Speaking of that — while the food and ambiance at Luminosa have so much potential, I do hope the team reflects on how small gestures of hospitality can truly make or break a guest's experience. Asheville locals, especially after everything our community has weathered with Hurricane Helene and the challenges that followed, genuinely want to support local businesses. However, between the steep downtown parking costs and moments like this, it sometimes feels less inviting than it could be. I would love nothing more than to continue supporting Asheville establishments that not only serve wonderful food but also treat their guests with warm

   This was our first time at Luminosa and we will definitely return in the future. The food, atmosphere and service were outstanding.

   The service was impeccable! As good as some top end restaurants in NYC! Could not believe how good they all were. The food was good. a bit too much garlic for a garlic lover. The food was an interesting combination. presented well. tasty.

   Had an incredible meal with friends! Neil was our server: he was fun, knowledgeable, and had great recommendations. He made our night delightful! This is our 2nd time to Luminosa and we look forward to coming back again!

   Fabulous meal and amazing service! We had a wonderful meal at Luminosa. Everything was so tasty- from the cocktails to olives, lemon pizza, flavorful and tender pork and delicious rigatoni and sides. Our server was attentive, helpful and friendly- even offering tips on how to recreate one of the dishes at home. Our daughter asked if we could eat there again the next night. A true Asheville gem-highly recommended!

   I live downtown at the Grove arcade in Asheville and are you frequent this restaurant. This is because not only in my opinion is the food a five star, the staff is also a five star.

    I tried this restaurant for the first time for Easter Sunday Brunch on 4-20. A great variety on the menu, pricing is fair, and excellent service from the staff. Francisco was a very pleasant waiter. The only 4 was for the cut of side bacon. Too thin for a $6 side, but this is minor. Overall, this is a great restaurant, with a rooftop bar and coffee shop, well worth the views while you wait for your table on the 9th floor. I will return for dinner! Check out the Flat Iron Hotel as well, it's new to downtown Asheville.
