Good for special occasions

Chef Frank Bonanno dug into his Sicilian heritage and east coast roots to create this authentic, rustic Italian eatery. Luca has amazing personal touches from the daily made breads and pastas to the meats and cheeses cured in house, to the charcoal drawing of Bonanno’s son (and the restaurant’s namesake) that hangs in the dining room. Luca is heartwarming and satisfying from the wood-fired pizzas to the hand-rolled pastas to the perfectly seared proteins. It’s not your ordinary pile-of-pasta-and-sauce Italian joint; it’s the real (and tasty) deal.

Really terrific mains but the entrees were a little too fussy and way overpriced. $25 for three white asparagus that were overpowered by a citrus sauce? The staff, Sydney in particular, were wonderful and genuinely sought out feedback. Will definitely be going again. I think the new chef may be finding their feet and so I appreciate their efforts!

The food was incredible but the portion sizes were silly--soooo small. For $40 the cod that i ordered was no more than an appetizer.

A thoroughly wonderful experience. I've been going to Bonanno restaurants for years and I've never been disappointed. We started with the burrata with prosciutto. We could have made a meal with that. I had the pappardelle bolognese and my gf had the chicken ravioli. Both dishes were so flavorful and perfectly prepared. Service was amazing. We're very supportive of the CHP fee.

We’ve been enjoying Luca for years and this visit was no exception to the past visits. Each time we dine we are greeted with friendly and familiar faces, pristine table service, and attention to food service rivaling anywhere in the city. My girlfriend and I both love to dine out exploring Denver’s many great new additions and hotspots, yet we always return to Luca anytime we want authentic (and the best in the city) Italian. We’ve been to them all and without sounding pompous or worldly, outside of Italy, this place rings truest of the true. Hype spots are fun, Luca is as if Nonna were preparing it for you. Brock and the team last visit went above and beyond to our requests which were, above and beyond. But this is what makes Luca, Luca. You are always treated like family.

Third time here and they knock it out of the park every time! Delicious food and cocktails. Only drawback was a waitress that was sneezing - covered her mouth once but didn't sanitize or wash her hands before serving food and touching the screen all the other servers use, and then twice more didn't cover her mouth at all. Putting that aside, it was a good experience.

Service was impeccable as always. Enjoy how effortlessly the staff works together for a wonderful guest experience. The mussels and eggplant starter were wonderful and my other friend could not say enough about the Brussels Caesar salad. The primi, four out of five of us ordered the gnochetti, which was perfectly executed, and tasted light and refreshing. For the secondi, the branzino skin could have been crispier but the fish was cooked properly, those who preferred the chicken parm were quite happy with their selection and finally the short rib. It was seasoned aggressively but enjoyed by my friend who enjoys his food seasoned more than some. The farewell with the chocolate hazelnut ‘bite’ was served at the perfect temp and the texture was wonderful.
