   Located in a hotel in DT Rochester MN. Rustic looking interior - wanna be old British. Assuming due to CoVid 19 the place was dead empty. Typical steak house fair - nothing special or worth mentioning. Polite yet slightly dense server. Meat quality not bad but certainly not as good as one would expect considering the prices. Mediocre wine selection. Not worth going back there.

   Ok I ordered fish at a steak restaurant and it was overcooked . The rest of the dishes were fine and service was great

   My wife and I always have terrific experiences at this little hidden gem. We have found that the food is incredibly consistent the times we patronize the establishment. The staff is extremely friendly and cheerful. We typically get “Kia”, and she’s a funny, energetic and attentive little firecracker. We really like her. The bartending is excellent and the drinks are phenomenal. It’s pretty rare that I can ask for my typical cocktail and that it’s made correctly the first time. At this establishment it’s always made correctly the first time. Somebody knows their cocktail history. I just love the ambience and the look and feel of the place. It’s usually very quiet when we are there and that’s how we prefer it. I typically get the surf and turf and the New York strips. I found that they are always incredibly tasty and cooked exactly the way I ordered them. The lobster tail is a little pricey for such a small portion, but then again in Rochester, it’s pretty slim pickings when we’re so landlocked. We keep going back because it’s consistent, tasty, fun and beautiful. Highly recommended especially for a nice quiet date.

   We went there the day before Valentine's Day. Kim was an awesome waitress, food was spectacular. I had made a special request the night I made my reservations and the staff, remembered, followed through and knocked it out if the park!! I will definitely be back... Soon!!

   Started well and went downhill.from there. Very disappointing. Meal took longer than normal to be served and when it finally came out, everything was cold. Steak, lobster, prime rib, baked potato- everything. First time in 30 years of eating out I had to send everything back. Asked for another glass of wine when we sent the food back. After 20 minutes I asked again and finally received one. Second round was warm, not hot. We are some and because it was getting late asked for the check and a take home box. Surprisingly, they didn't discount any of the bill. Needless to say I will never eat there again.

   Excellent food, wonderful staff, and peaceful atmosphere. We have eaten here numerous times and each time we are not disappointed. I invite you to try Lord Essex. The Kong’s cut 10oz filet is FANTASTIC!!!

   I loved this restaurant. It was quiet. The service was great. The food was delicious. I had the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were meaty and served cold. Loved it. I had the T-bone and my wife had the prime rib. Both pieces of meat were cooked to perfection. This is the best steak restaurant in Rochester.
