Bartender was all alone. Damn good dry martini. My order for oysters and lobster cocktail was lost. Was I a bit of a rush for Kimmel Center. Still, nice meal. Oysters were somewhat chopped up, not the usual quality at Loch.

First time going to this place. What a vibe. From the great service, the food was great. The live music was a great touch. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for something more upbeat in dining.

Everytime we visit Loch Bar, the food is terrific - always fresh and well prepared. However, on our most recent visit, it felt as though some aspects of the service were undermining the "high end" dining vibe that, in part, makes the menu pricing worthwhile. For example, our table was not ready at the reservation time, despite letting the restaurant know we had theater tix to meet, so we were initially sat at the bar. OK, happens all the time, but when we ordered some drinks and raw bar, we were required to give our server a credit card before the order even when in. It felt like an accusation of Dine and Dash and has no place in better dining. Two of the four drinks we ordered were not initially made correctly, although that was promptly rectified. So we were were seated late and our order was taken promptly and correctly, but when we were down to 5 minutes before showtime (across the street), our server was nowhere to be found, and the folks at the Maitre'd stand seemed unmotivated to resolve the problem. At $500 for a table for four, excluding tip, I expect better. Ocean Prime next time, I think.

It took one hour for them to find us a proper table even though we made a reservation. The service was bad. Would not go again…

Food was good; service was terrible. Arrived 1 PM for reservation. Food finally came to table at 2:20. Lots of excuses, but none was adequate. Since we were due at Kimmel at 2:45 (and the server knew that), we had to guzzle our food down after waiting soooo long.

Extraordinary bartender skills and affect. Oyster perfection, masterfully shucked. OMG the caviar. A man could weep.

We had a 6:30 reservation for an outdoor table but they did not have a table ready so we told the hostess we would take the first available. The hostess then seated a 6:45 reservation before us—even though only one person from their party had arrived—resulting in us waiting 30 minutes to be seated. Additionally, it’s unclear whether our waiter was overwhelmed or simply forgot to place our food order, but our food took nearly an hour to arrive. While the food was good, the service could use some improvement.

We enjoyed Loch Bar. The food was good. The calamari/shrimp appetizer was very good but small. Could have been more of each item.

the service was the slowest I’ve ever experienced… something felt like it was wrong at the hostess station, I had to keep reminding her we were waiting for a table, and finally one of the times she said we had a table. The service at the table wasn’t much better - our drinks were delivered by a very pleasant staff member, but the food came cold and we had to ask twice for silverware. It’s bizarre - this place has such potential; it’s a very nice establishment. It just doesn’t quite meet any sort of standard.
