Service and ambience were great! Great location...food not so much. This was the brunch menu. We all ordered something different and none of us were blown away. Don't try the chicken and waffles if you're expecting something superb.

The food was great. Service excellent. However, the place is so loud that you feel like you have to yell across the table or at your server to be heard. They should really invest in some noise reducing tiles or something. It would make the atmosphere much more pleasant.

The staff helped me in this reservation/ this surprise for a friend of mines' birthday. They picked out a great table for them and let me have access to it early to set flowers on and even accommodated me pre-ordering a cheese plate and a couple glasses of prosecco for them. After my friends couldn't stop gushing about how amazing the dinner experience was, the staff was attentive and helped to make them feel special and they are still talking about how great the fried chicken was :)

We went in with excitement and eagerness to try this place out, but we were disappointed right when we walked in. Instead of walking out, we decided to give the place a chance since we had read good things. The decor looked as if it were about to go out of business and was in a bit of an identity crisis. Is it a creative fine dining establishment or a neighborhood bar or a fast-food joint? It appeared as though someone stole the art that was hanging on the walls and left the sad empty hooks bare and unappealing. To have our hostess also be our waitress was a little strange especially from behind a old and beat up music stand placed awkwardly in the room. Nothing matched or seemed to be thought out, and no charm. Our table's legs were very uneven which made it hard to eat at without our food and drinks rocking back and forth. The menu looked promising, but after looking around at what other people's food looked like, we decided to order two glasses of wine and a cheese plate. Again, disappointed. Small boring portions and over priced for what you got. Our waitress acted as though she had better things to do and the rest of the staff seemed a bit aloof. The vibe was flat just like the room temp tap water we were served. The best part of the night was leaving and grabbing a delecious taco from next door. We are long time Austinites and understand and value the good, local, creative and "weird" that our city loves and embraces. Sadly, this place misses the mark. So many other good choices in Austin... Especially for the money!

Not an awesome experience. We waited 45 minutes for a burger and chicken & waffles; when the burger finally came it was raw. Not rare. Raw. Took another 15 minutes to get back the same burger that had been stuck under the broiler. The waffles were dry. The waitress refilled our water glasses once -- as we were paying the check. The fried chicken was really good. And there's a parking lot. But I don't think I'll go back.

The menu had no gluten free options which was an issue for 2 of my party. the orders cam out one at a time and took way too long. The restaurant was not busy. Menu was not that interesting from a foodie perspective. I had the Florentine Benedict is was ok but not close to outstanding. Wedge salads were small and inconsistent on proportion. Parking is of course always an issue. Not worth the drive to SoCo like Vespio, South Congress Café or Enoteca is

We were at Little Barrel and Brown on Saturday mid morning with a group of 6. We had a reservation. We were seated in the back corner by the kitchen, which was fine, but it was hot. The service was atrocious. I have been in the service industry for 10 years and several people in our group have been as well. Our server was SLOW, and not because he was busy. He forgot to put in our order for 45 mins, came back to our table after he had realized what he had done and re-took our order and blamed it on the kitchen. We only saw him one time after that. We had to ask the expo for more water/cocktails/salt & pepper, etc.. No one ever apologized to us for what had happened or even checked on us to make sure we were okay. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone.

Our second visit. Wife loves the Fried chicken. I am partial to the Pork chop. Nice wine list. Roasted peppers appetizer hits the spot. Todd is an exceptional server.
