We have been to Le Rivage many times - We love the ambiance and the service. This time is was Pre-Fix, which is OK if you are new. We had hoped to have a regular menu as well, but this is probably easier for the staff with all the broadway tourists in the area. Again - we would go back - it is a really nice bistro and perfect for date night

Wonderful “old school” French experience. Even though it was pre theater “rush” everything came out wonderfully prepared.

Despite having come here for many years and never being disappointed, it has happened. I suspect they have a new chef and I am honestly not thrilled. To start, the baked mussels had a weird brown sauce on top and I was not a fan. Then, for the main course, the Chicken Cordon Bleu was gone and was the main reason my wife would come here. My canard a l’orange was ok but not great as it used to be. It was definitely very strange to be served with an Asian white sticky rice and scallions as opposed to a nice wild rice pilaf. I also would have preferred some nice roasted carrots vs. the turnips that are served with it. The double espresso was so-so and the Basque cheesecake was decent but I’ve had better. My wife did enjoy her cappuccino and chocolate mousse. Unfortunately, I doubt we will be returning.

It’s always the customers that you serve the longest without a hitch that are the first to turn on you. At the very first misstep they are quick to complain and crucify with a bad review. After more than 4 decades of hospitality, your food description and silly gripes it’s obvious you were there at the beginning. Change is good, change is healthy, change is what’s new and young…let’s leave the past in the past, our success backs our decisions. The chef is the owner, the same original chef for the past 40 years, so there will be no turning backwards!!!!!

Le Rivage is one of my favorite French restaurants in NYC. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and thoughtful. Whenever I dine there, it feels like I'm with family.

The restaurant is a natural for after-theater. The $70 prix fixe is fairly priced, and the r choices are excellent. This time we especially liked the escargots and the beef bourguinon, but other choices have always satisfied. Service is kind and efficient. (Special thanks to Stefan for attentive and gracious service.) tables are well spaced, too.

Wonderful restaurant, great for pre and post Broadway as well as just a special evening out. The food, the team that helps you are all outstanding. Make this your next restaurant.

If indulgence is your sin, then Le Rivage is a fine way to spend a leisurely (pre-theater) lunch. From the welcoming hostess to enthusiastic staff, we thoroughly enjoyed our scrumptious French feast on Easter Sunday. Escargot came piping hot with crusty bread to soak up the garlicky butter. Equally satisfying was our tomato salad appetizer which included an unusual citrus/pesto vinaigrette that immediately won us over. Delicious lamb and risotto entrees required we finish every bite, and our waiter's solid red wine suggestion was much appreciated. We finished with a deeply rich chocolate mousse that was so feathery light it was hard to believe. Berries satisfied as refreshing even though topped with ice cream! Le Rivage has withstood the test of time because of its 100% attention to the diner's experience. Bravo!
