   I’m torn between wanting everyone on the planet to know about this place and hoping it remains an unassuming hidden gem. Kansas City is spoiled to have Lazia, a perfect intersection of creativity and undeniable delight. The spring menu is possibly one of the best works Chef Aaron has graced us with since he’s taken the reigns of executive chef, teasing out uncanny combinations and stretching the limits of Italian cuisine. Another meal with no skips, here’s our order: Spring Peas, Mussels, Doppio Ravioli, Creste De Gallo, Mint Chocolate Mousse Cake, Affogato.

   Every time we go to Lazia, it is an amazing experience! The spring menu is delicious, fresh, and still has some favorites from previous menus. Our waitress, Haleigh, was amazing! She went above and beyond to help us celebrate our 10 year anniversary and gave great food suggestions. We love celebrating with Lazia!

   Our server was not good from beginning to end. She kind of acted like we were bothering her and we made no special requests nor did we send anything back. She took a while to even greet us and take our cocktail and appetizer order. BTW, the appetizer was delicious! She should’ve asked us if we wanted another drink before our meal came but she did not. Soon after our food was served she stopped by to check on us and we asked for a glass of wine. She said she’d be right back. She did not come back. We finished our meal and someone came over to get us wine. We told them we no longer needed it. Our server came over after that and offered us a complimentary dessert or glass of wine. We kindly declined because by that point we were just done. Our server told us she told someone to help us but they didn’t. Kind of sounded silly for her to blame someone else and take no responsibility. We still tipped decently but probably wouldn’t go back. Not sure of our servers name but she was a pretty, tall, brunette with a cute bob hair style.

   Absolutely amazing food! The ambiance is perfect for a date night! The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and explained the dishes very well, we will definitely be back with friends as well so they can partake in the same amazing experience!

   My favorite Italian restaurant in Kansas City. The menu is extremely creative and everything from the cheesey focaccia bread to the wagyu beef carpaccio to the shrimp pasta Serpintine and braised beef was delicious. The prosciutto and melon is salty and sweet and if you like brick oven pizza… they are all fabulous choices!
