   Unknown to us the restaurant was closing in a few days from our Anniversary reservation If I record everything that went wrong here, folks will not believe it. Let's say it involved a dead fly in my napkin, COLD (as in refrigerator) plain white rice on my wife's dish, and it was clear that this was not this restaurants finest hour - as the sunset was approaching. It was clear the host and staff were taking care of regulars but this was the worst experience we've ever had. I am leaving out lots of details, but believe me when I say - you did not miss much if you did not go to this restaurant towards the end of its reign.

   We had a late business dinner. They were very accommodating even though we were by far the last folks there. Even took a special request from a vegetarian and did a great job with that.

   The entire experience was first rate. We were seated promptly and our drink order taken immediately. Our server was very understated but attentive. The steak au poivre was excellent and the bread was outstanding. The chocolate mousse was the perfect end to a wonderful meal.

   We celebrated my husband's birthday, as our last visit before they close for good. It was delicious and so nice. We will MISS this fine, French restaurant. Good luck in Retirement!

   Always a great meal at La Petite France. So sorry they are closing, but we wish them all the best. The "special occasion" was one last opportunity to dine with them. They are open until June 23rd.

   This restaurant has excellent service and always has good food choices. The special we had this night was excellent. It is a shame that we are losing this icon of French dining.

    We had never been and heard this restaurant was closing at the end of April. We got a reservation Saturday afternoon for Saturday night which isn't always easy so I was a little nervous. The waiter we had was very soft spoken and disengaged but did his job. I love when the wait staff adds to the fun of the evening, but that's a personal preference I realize. The French onion soup was some of the best I ever had so that was encouraging, but I ordered the duck for dinner and it was disappointing. The thick fat was not rendered as it should have been, and although I like duck on the rare side, this was a bit too rare for me. The flavor was a kind of bland, although the cherry sauce was on the verge of being really good. The vegetables were also fairly bland and both meals came with the same sauteed veggies. My husband had the steak au poivre which says it is a filet mignon, but had gristle running through it which we've never experienced with a filet. The steak was also undercooked. He requested medium-rare but the center was nearly raw. For him that's not a big deal because he's a light eater and took half of it home and sauteed it with his eggs, but getting the temp right on a steak should be easy for an experienced chef. Also the red brandy sauce was not to his liking - but that's a matter of taste. They told us that the closing had been postponed until June, but perhaps they are already winding down? Likely it will sell to a Chinese family who would make it a Chinese restaurant. That part is a shame because Cincinnati doesn't have enough French restaurants, and a plethora of Chinese.
