   Beautiful restaurant in Midtown on 6 1/2 Ave. Would not sit “outside” unless it was a warm evening since, although the space is covered, its open to the elements. Bar is top notch and has a happy hour from 2 to 7 which can help with the cost of the expensive cocktails. Pro tip: If you’re going to get escargot, it’s a real deal at the bar during happy hour. Dinner was good and service was attentive. Expensive but quite an experience.

   Great food although one dish of eggs Benedict wasn’t very hot. Wonderful Bloody Mary. Interesting wine selection.

   Ordered 2 signature drinks, those arrived well after our meals did! Waitress dropped dirty plates and silverware on floor. After she cleaned it up, she washed her hands off in a NEW iced wine bucket with someone’s wine in it. She later then poured those guests additional wine from that bottle absolutely disgusting! Steaks were good, dessert and coffee were good. Waitress kept calling us “darlings”. Not professional in the least. Overall I would say it was average at best. It is a real shame because I was really looking forward to a wonderful steak and flawless service, none of which I got.

    We went here to celebrate our 39th anniversary. It was an on and off rainy day. We drove in and parked in a lot on 54 th St. GPS said it was a 3 min walk but we could not find it. There is no sign outside. We wound up taking a cab since we were lost and it was raining. The taxi dropped us off at a “street sign 6 1/2 Ave” on 53rd St. It was an atrium and we walked in and a few steps down was the entrance to the restaurant. It was busy but we had a reservation and were seated right away. Our waiter was very charming and funny. We started off with cocktails. I had the Phoenix and my husband had a beer. The Phoenix was Del Maguey Mezcal, Lime, Cholula, Grapefruit Soda. It hit the spot and was just what I needed. We started with salads: Niçoise salad with fresh tuna and Mesclun salad with goat cheese croquettes. The salads were large but delicious. The goat cheese croquettes were balls that were lightly breaded. I thought they were croutons but to my surprise they were warm and soft not crunchy. Next we had the NY strip steak and frittes and the Comtè chicken fillet with mashed potatoes and carrots and string beans. The gravy reminded me of Thanksgiving lol. Both were delicious. For dessert we shared a crème brûlée. It was light and refreshing. Our experience was delightful. It was pouring rain when we left but our spirits were high.
