   The food is superb at this restaurant. We found the main waiter to be a bit unresponsive and inattentive. However his assistant was excellent and made up for his lack of hospitality.

   This was our favorite restaurant we ate at in Milan. The food was delicious, interior was cozy and we really enjoyed the overall experience.

   Very cool atmosphere and environment. The wine and food were amazing. We had the ravioli, tagliolini, and sea bass, which were all amazing. It is a little bit on the pricier side and the menu is kind of confusing with order requirements, but it was one of our favorite meals on our trip and worth every penny.

   We found the service at this restaurant to be exceptionally friendly and helpful, which made for a welcoming atmosphere. However, it's worth noting that the staff-to-guest ratio seemed a bit on the lower side. The compact size of the restaurant contributed to a cozy yet somewhat cramped experience. Overall, our visit was pleasant, but when it comes to the food, the appetizers outshone the main courses. The pasta was decent, but it didn't quite live up to our expectations.

   The waiters were extremely friendly until they realised we weren’t about to pay €€€€ for a bottle of wine or order extensively from the menu. This place isn’t great for picky eaters at all, and we were a bit disappointed with what we ordered vs what we got. It’s more of an experience restaurant, I wouldn’t recommend actually going if you’re wanting a MEAL.

   Our experience at La gioia was very disappointing. The eggplant apperitivo was outstanding. However, when the cacio e pepe dish arrived, I politely asked the waiter if I could take a picture. He responded in a rude tone, telling me that flash was not allowed. Which was fine on our part, that’s why we asked politely previously. Shortly after, another waiter came to refill our wine glasses, and the first waiter cautioned him in Italian to ensure that we didn't use our phones with flash. Neither of us had been using flash, and I found the rude connotation unnecessary. Another note i’d like to point out was that there was another table using flash and they seemed to not have an issue with it. After 15 minutes, we felt uncomfortable continuing our meal. The same waiter who made the comment about flash asked if the pasta was okay, to which we replied it was fine. Without asking permission, he abruptly removed our plates. He then proceeded to clean our table, even though we hadn't finished our food or the bottle of wine. Despite being touted as the "best pasta" in Milan, our experience at La gioia did not live up to expectations. The only positive aspect was the attentive service provided by Freddy.

   The food was very expensive for what it was the food was a 5/10 at best not what I expected. This restaurant is certainly not 5 stars and is very overpriced and hyped. stay away. Also the service was abysmal.

    Beautiful food in an authentic restaurant, attentive staff will visit again when I’m back in Milan.
