At Kumquat, every dish is inspired by authentic Asian cuisine, crafted by Chef Patron Alex Boyd.
With nearly 30 years of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants and prestigious hotels in London and Hong Kong, Alex has worked with renowned chefs like Joel Robuchon and Pierre Koffman.
He earned two AA rosettes as Executive Chef at the 4 AA Red Starred Hotel St Ermin’s and led the kitchens at Mansion House, cooking for dignitaries, royalty, and world leaders.
Inspired by the flavours of Asia, Alex combines classical dishes with modern techniques to create a dynamic menu.
We source only the finest ingredients, and our selection of handcrafted cocktails, wines, and beers complements the menu perfectly.

    A great experience. Interesting menu. A bit different just what Tunbridge Wells needed. Great small and larger plates to share or not. Very pleasant staff. Can’t think why I left it so long to visit. Will return with friends for sure. Thank you!

    Lovely restaurant, brilliant staff, absolutely delicious food. Would recommend to anyone who is thinking about booking. You will not be disappointed.

    Wonderful vegetarian food, just wished they had more options on the menu! The food was very fresh and beautifully cooked and presented. Will be back for more!

    Two main courses (½ of the available non veggie ones) were unavailable which was rather annoying. What we did get was good, but the menu was restrictive with the missing items. Service was slow, took about 30 mins to get one of the drinks.

    Me and my girlfriend had an absolutely lovely Valentine’s Day meal. It was very busy and booked up with a smooth in and out system but the staff handled this expertly. The food was absolutely delicious and we’d definitely return for a meal again in future. The restaurant looked lovely and it was nice to see that such an effort had been made. The Valentine’s photo was a particularly nice touch! A lovely night.
