   Excellent service. Good food. Nice live music. Dining in the upstairs dining room for the first time very nice. Pretty good wine list. Nice bourbon selection. The outside dining is to die for when the weather Is good.

   We went for brunch. The food was good, but not spectacular. The decor is very stylish but period piece for the house. While the room is bright and inviting, the sound carries quite a bit. I could hear peoples conversations 4 tables away. The best part was our waitress. Very nice, professional yet familiar. The only real negative is the parking situation, there is none. There is the streets. That's it. We were lucky enough to get something right around the corner. Overall, a nice time.

   Having heard good things about Kenmore Inn, we went with another couple to celebrate our triple decade wedding anniversaries. There was a 60-person wedding party on the beautifully appointed main floor, while the restaurant guests were shuffled off to the basement with exposed pipes, ghastly-bright light fixtures, and uncomfortable chairs. When one of the staff shared the number of wedding reception guests, we inquired if some staff had called-out, hoping this explained the 20 minutes it took to get our drinks. Alas, no...only 2 servers on the schedule! Seriously, scotch on the rocks arrived and the ice had nearly completely melted! The staff we encountered were apologetic, but too overwhelmed to share anything historical with our party even when we shared that the whole party were first-timers at Kenmore Inn and in spite of including notation in our reservation that we were celebrating 32 and 37 years married, no mention or inquiry was made of our special occasion. Very disappointing as the food was good, but there are just too many other restaurants with good food to tolerate such poor planning on the part of management. Wish we’d left when the drinks took so long to arrive. We probably could’ve walked to another spot downtown and truly celebrated.

   Despite the tables with white linens on the website, dinner is in the tap room in the basement, without table cloths or even a sign indicating where to enter the restaurant. The only thing redeeming about our meal was the smoked chicken, which was delicious. But you have to be very careful what you order. The sandwich with vegetables came on stale bread with few vegetables. We should have sent it back. Service was fair at best.

   The basement was not available due to a private party. We would not have made a reservation had we known that. The waitress was attentive at first, but left us without checking on us for too long. Water glasses went unfilled for half the meal. The take-home boxes were mixed up and we ended up with some other party's leftover food items. We were unhappy with our dining experience.

   The service was terrific. We went here for my birthday, so I was hoping for a special evening. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich with roasted potatoes. The potatoes were fantastic--seasoned perfectly. I could not stop eating them. The vegetarian sandwich was mostly bread and very non-memorable. But I was glad they at least had a vegetarian option for me. My husband had 3 crab cakes with the same roasted potatoes. He told me the crab cakes were pretty skimpy on the crab and had too much filling in them. For dessert, I had carrot cake. It tasted like it was about 5 or 6 days old by the time it got to my plate. But, as I said, the service was awesome and, overall, we were glad we went (for the ambiance, etc). The main entrees were just average, though.
