   The music was so excessively loud and all the food took forever to come out and wasn't that great. The waiter also charged us a "cover fee" for the music that was not so great

   I thought I was going to a sushi restaurant but it was a hodgepodge of sushi and other things and nothing sounded appetizing. I took the safe road and had a salad which was good. The place apparently becomes a club at 10 so they were setting up the music and equipment so it was loud. The restaurant was also empty and for a Saturday night that seems like a sign. The waitress was nice and kept promoting how good stuff was. I won’t be going back there are too many choices in Miami now.

   Kao is an underrated spot in Coral Gables. Many restaurants pop up and last a year or 2. Kao has persevered without sacrificing quality and service. My husband and I had not been in since Covid. We were in the Gables and decided to revisit the place and it did not disappoint. We like many things about Kao: the diverse menu options, all of which were delicious, excellent service from our thoughtful server Helen, excellent cocktails, ambiance is fun and creative and they turn into a club on the weekend. My husband and I ordered the Braised Lamb Shank which was super tender and flavorful after being stewed over 5 hours. The mixed vegetables were delicious as well. Our friends had the grilled octopus which was tender and delicious and the Flap Steak which was tender and tasty. We started with a sausage appetizer and the sausage was spicy and tasty. We also each had an empanada of a different flavor. They were crispy and tasty. For dessert, we shared the brownie sunday and the choc chip cookie sunday which were both delicious. We recommend Kao highly and hope you will give it a try. Debbie & Darin S

   This was by far the worst Miami Spice experience we have ever had. Miami Spice is a set menu with limited choices. Our first waitress perfunctorily greeted us only with negativity. We were the second party seated and FOUR of the choices were already not available. FOUR!! Our party of four had selected this restaurant purely on the published menu and all four items that weren’t available were dishes we planned to order. Plus there was only one alternative offered as an alternative and it was a less than satisfactory steak—certainly not a premium cut Then she delivered her parting insult. She dismissed us with a simple invitation to leave if we didn’t like it. We sat there a few minutes discussing what had happened and were about to leave Finally another waitress approached us. She had overheard the conversation and offered to take over our table and make it up to us. She was so nice; we decided to stay. She turned out to be wonderful and saved our anniversary celebration The ceviche, sushi, and the tablita grill platter were wonderful, but management, chef and the first waitress need an attitude adjustment. If they don’t want to offer a true Miami Spice menu, they should withdraw from the program

   Arrived at reservation time, 8:30pm. Ordered appetizers and dinner within 5 minutes of being seated. It took over an hour for appetizers to arrive. Dinner didn’t come until a bit past 10pm. Not sure why service was so poor considering only two other tables were taken in the entire restaurant. Including my date and I, only 6 other total guests. Very disappointed with the poor service. Food for subpar. I wouldn’t recommend this location to a friend or family member.

   This place was lovely! I feel bad our waiter was only one girl and she had to serve a big party of 12. There should’ve been at least two waiters. The food was really good, but the volcano roll I ordered could have improved. Overall, it was a 4/5 experience and the ambiance was 5/5.

   The food was so delicious!! Love the convince of it being on miracle mile. Cute spot for sushi.

    Empty on Valentines Day -everywhere else was packed, should have been a red flag. Hostest told us to sit anywhere, walked up to the bar because that was our chosen seats, bartender points his finger and demands NO ONE sit at the bar..ahhh, then why allow us to “sit where we like”? After an argument ensued between bartender and server we decided that wasn't the romantic setting we were interested in for the evening. Hightailed it outta there walked around the corner and found the loveliest little Japanese Resturant that saved the night!
