Overall disappointed. Food was good, not great. After 4 years (daughter was a college student at university) we have gone to nearly every Iowa City restaurant. We saved this for graduation. Definitely this was a one and done experience. The Chop House and Pullman are far superior.

Very good steak. Dinners include soup or salad. The French onion soup was excellent. Steaks were perfectly rare. Five star service. Great cocktails.

My husband and I decided to try Joseph's for our anniversary--very happy we did! Our waiter was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful with suggestions. We felt that our halibut and steak dishes were absolutely delicious! I also tried yucca for the first time ever--yummy! We will definitely be back!

A great fine dining restaurant in Iowa city ! I am not a huge fan of steak or meat in general, but their menu is very accommodating! I ordered the mushroom tortellini and every bite was like heaven. Even if you don't like some of their dishes that they are known for, give this place a try because their other menu options will still give you a wonderful experience. Staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable if you have any questions.

Martin, our waiter, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Very energetic and made the evening fun for our party of 6. I've eaten a 5-stars around the country and the food here was equal too, or better than, any of them. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced and between the food and Martin, made the evening very special.

Steak doneness is one level below the normal temperature(ie. medium would come out to medium rare etc.) Aside from that, overall a good restaurant.
