About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
Chef Joseph Wrede is a Food & Wine Best New Chef, the winner of several AAA Four Diamond Awards, several DiRoNA Awards and has received both Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast distinctions. Joseph’s Culinary Pub is a creation of Chef Wrede and his creative and business partners. This is the third incarnation of Wrede’s original Joseph’s Table, conceived in Taos, New Mexico, not quite 20 years ago, for which he is well known and loved within the region and beyond. Joseph’s Culinary Pub is designed to be a platform for Chef Wrede’s unique and uncompromising vision on traditional and contemporary cuisine, both regional and international. Regarding the restaurant as a process much like theater, Wrede envisions the experience of dining in his restaurant as an interactive play between the pub and the public, with his sights aimed at rivaling high art.

Part of the fun of going out for dinner is to soak up the ambience... see and be seen. I was disappointed to be seated in the small dining room with a view of a wall. Kind of killed the experience for me. Overall, the food was excellent, but I would suggest the Ratatouille should be renamed Warm Kale Salad as that is the main ingredient by a significant degree.

Absolutely outstandingly delicious! Best meal I’ve had in a long time. I’m a food snob and this place did not disappoint. I’ll be back next time I’m in Santa Fe.

We were seated in a small room that was very quiet and cozy. We both chose the snapper special which they accommodated our request to substitute the Brussels sprouts. The chef chose crispy kale which gave nice texture to the fish and potatoes. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. We had a lovely night.

Excellent menu with a mix of fish/meat/chicken with Gluten Free and Vegetarian options including desserts. The duck fat french fries are a "must" and my favorite is the Lamb green chili cheese burger. The ambiance is a casual old adobe and it is a locals favorite.

Server was very knowledgeable and attentive.. we were seated in the smaller dinning area which was more intimate and nose level very low… we don’t go very often even though they are in our neighborhood but when we have we have never had a poor meal or experience

This was our first time eating here. We visit Santa Fe several times a year and have enjoyed so many wonderful meals from Geronimo, Sazon, Zacatlan to Marias, La Choza and Tesugue Market. We are so excited to add Joseph’s Culinary Pub to our rotation. Do not miss the butterscotch pudding. Amazing!

The stacked vegetable enchiladas was superb. Each bite was a different explosion of flavor. The vegetables were all cooked perfectly. It exceeded my expectations! The lamb shoulder banana curry was nice, but lacking enough curry in our opinion. Our 2 green salads were fresh and flavorful. Our wine selections were all nice. Service was good.

It was everything that we’d been led to believe. A pleasant welcome, nice table and excellent service from Jeff. Menu and wine list are varied and creative. Look at the choice of sparkling wines! Great meal! Joe was at the helm and he obviously has a flair. We eat at this kind of place all over the world, literally and Joe’s does hit all the targets.

Creative cuisine, outstanding service and a quiet table as requested. An extra bonus was the highly original and delicious vegetarian offering--ratatouille, with kale of all things!
