We love coming to J-D’s.
Today we had more lil bumps than we ever usually do. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer of the wings. The lemonade for the Arnold Palmer has a flavor that was not pleasant. Not sure if it’s the pre mix brand but it tasted off, so a coke was substituted. The coke was flat and the syrup base was a couple notches too weak. The wings while served hot and crisp, the flavor tastes like reheated bone in chicken(IYKYK). The table order was Ribeye, Prime Rib and Beef Rib fettuccine. Beware, the Beef rib ancho chile rib is very overpowering for a pasta. That was sent back. Also the seared tuna salad was ordered and it was fantastic!
One small note: we order meat MEDIUM everywhere, and J-D’s is the only place that we’ve found the Medium to be closer to Rare than not.

Ambled into Joey D's for a late 3:00 lunch. I got there early and camped out at the bar waiting for my date. Several people came by to say hello, to include Jasmine, Diana, and Kaylee, who gave me a little bag of Easter eggs. There was an informal wager amongst all of us as to how long I would need to wait before said date arrived, but she was on time.
We were seated and greeted promptly.
1st round of drinks of Prosecco and a dirty Martini.
We shared a shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. Not much on presentation, but the shrimp cocktail comes with four huge shrimp, resembling cricket bats. Chilled, with some lemon if desired, and two sauces.
Entrees were ordered. She had the Chilean Sea Bass. I'm more of a Halibut guy, but the fish came as a quite large steak, and was typically flaky, but this Sea Bass was incredibly delicate as well. My bite was really good, and the marinade flavors were nice without being overpowering.
I had the garlic strip, medium, and it came out nicely prepared as always, and this was a really enjoyable steak.
Loaded baked potatoes, and of course.... say it with me ... Caesar salads for the two of us.
I opted to return to one of my favorites, the Van Duzer Pinot Noir with my steak, and she had the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
It wasn't as busy as I thought it would have been, but I'm guessing they may have been packed earlier in the day after church. The staff was buzzing around in typical Joey D's fashion and our service was good. Couple of small glitches but nothing to be upset about.
I thought they may have to roll me out of there in a wheelbarrow, but undaunted, I ordered a piece of cheesecake to take home which I enjoyed later. I don't do strawberry, so I typically get the cheesecake plain. Now load me up with a raspberry or blueberry topping and I'm good for maybe three pieces.
As always we had a great time, wonderful food, and once again my trip to Joey D's was complete. If you've eaten there you know what I mean.

Well, well, well - look who's back at Joey D's! As always, we appreciate your continued support of us over the years. I'm a big fan of the new red wine rotation or "era" are some would call it. On your way to announce the best of the best off of our list? We will be patiently waiting.
Cheers!

I had the Bone in Ribeye today. The 1st one was overcooked. However, the redo was perfect. Jasmine service was great.
This is my goto spot for steaks! No pay for your sides separately here!
