We don't take ourselves too seriously at Jax Fish House. Two things we do take seriously? The freshness and sustainability of our seafood. You know fresh fish when you see, smell, and taste it-and thanks to modern delivery technology, we bring in that freshy-fresh seven days a week. Sustainability is a little more complicated. Not all commercial fisheries are created equal. That's why we work closely with our suppliers and science-based organizations to ensure that every single thing we serve is responsibly sourced. We consider the stocks of the species we source to prevent overfishing and we work with suppliers who harvest in ways that have minimal impacts on marine environments.

Great experience! From hostess to the wait staff, my entire experience was amazing! The Pai Pai Oysters were incredible. Just when I thought East Coast oysters were the best, along come Pai Pai Oysters to steal my heart. Sarah your recommendations were top notch! Thank you for taking such good care of me!

We had the most incredible meal at Jax Fish House in Boulder. Truly a culinary experience worth raving about, thanks to Chef Anthony! There were four of us, and from start to finish, every dish was beautifully prepared, perfectly balanced, and bursting with flavor. We began with a round of East Coast oysters—briny, buttery, and ultra-fresh. A flawless way to kick things off. Next, we shared two outstanding salads: the classic Caesar with anchovies (bold and delicious, exactly how a Caesar should be) and the Kalera Greens Wedge with crispy bacon, Point Reyes blue cheese, tomato, and ranch. This salad was next-level—crisp, creamy, savory, and surprisingly elegant. For mains, the Thai Black Cod was a standout—perfectly cooked, silky, and tender, it was served over roasted sweet potato with a rich, aromatic Thai red curry sauce that added just the right amount of heat and depth. It was absolutely divine. The Blue Crab Cacio e Pepe was downright outrageous—velvety spaghettini tangled with sweet crab, nutty Grana Padano, a pop of chive, and the crunch of brown butter crumbs. Luxurious and comforting all at once. And the sleeper hit of the night? The side of Spicy Miso Mushrooms. If you go, you must order this side. Umami-rich, deeply savory, and so addictive, I found myself spooning up every last drop of that miso sauce. I would come back for that dish alone. Service was warm and attentive, the atmosphere lively and energetic, and everything arrived perfectly timed. Jax is firing on all cylinders. If you're in Boulder and want to treat yourself to an exceptional seafood-focused meal, this is the place.

Food was okay at best. Our server was lovely and didn’t charge us for the cups of Gumbo. I do not recommend their Gumbo. It wasn’t good and is not traditional gumbo. Probably won’t ever go back.

Jax Boulder is a regular go-to for our family as quality, service, and consistency has always been exceptional. Truth be told, and to our chagrin, the last two experiences had a flaw or two. Service continues to be brilliant; drinks finely crafted; entrees very good; management attentive; the environment a bit noisy. However, the calamari appetizer, normally melt-in-your-mouth outstanding, was tough and rubbery. Could it be that the squid used for the happy hour servings were not today's offering?
