   Inside smelled really bad like burnt grease so we couldn’t sit inside. We ordered a dessert that was really hot and it fell onto my daughters leg and hand burning her and the manager refused to take it off our bill when she didn’t have an appetite anymore. The waitress was really sweet and gave her some donuts to take home if she wanted them later but it was equivalent to the $15 dessert she ordered.

   The food was ok. Nothing out of the world. For the price, i could've gone to another place and eat a better brunch. Kinda dissapointed. The place inside looks very outdated and boring.

   My Cuz picked the spot for Alexamdria Restaurant week and I made the reservation. First time here and first time ordering off the restaurant week menu. Normally the selections on the restaurant week menu dont appeal to me, but at Java Grill it did. We were a little leery at first because the restaurant was empty, but then several more patrons trickled in and a couple of them seemed to be regulars. It may have been a slow night. I overheard someone from the kitchen (possibly the Chef) comment that noone else has come in for dessert. The She crab soup and Crabcakes entree were super yummy. (We both ordered the same thing.) Wine was on Happy hour special so we had multiple glasses of Chardonnay for her and Cab' for me, although I started out with a Red Blend. Was super stuffed. So, we took our desserts to go. My Tiramisu was just okay. Not the best I've every had. And as I'm typing this my Cuz has yet to eat the Carrot Cake. 🤷‍♀️ In regards to service, Reggie was great! He was attentive and very personable. There was a little confusion with splitting the bill, but in the end they (Reggie and the Manager) got it straight. All and All, it was a good experience. And YES, we will return. I want to try their Crab Benedict. ❤

   Food was amazing (had the crab cakes and grilled asparagus cooked perfectly) and the rolled ice cream was the perfect sharable birthday treat. My boyfriend and i cant wait to return and think this may be our new date night spot.
